Network nodes and methods therein for providing binding indication

A method performed by a PGW for handling a UEs access to an EPC service via a non-3GPP access network. During a request for connecting the UE to the non-3GPP access network, the PGW receives identity information which indicates an identity of an AAA node from a non-3GPP access gateway. The PGW selects the AAA node which was indicated in the received identity information. The PGW transmits, to the selected AAA node, a request message for the UE. The request message is a request for authorization of the UE to access the EPC service via the non-3GPP access network.

Method and nodes for handling access to EPC services via a non-3GPP network

The embodiments herein relate to a method performed by a PGW () for handling a UEs () access to an EPC service via a non-3GPP access network (). During a request for connecting the UE () to the non-3GPP access network (), the PGW () receives identity information which indicates an identity of an AAA node () from a non-3GPP access gateway (). The PGW () selects the AAA node () which was indicated in the received identity information. The PGW () transmits, to the selected AAA node (), a request message for the UE (). The request message is a request for authorization of the UE () to access the EPC service via the non-3GPP access network ().

A method performed in a mobility management node includes the mobility management node receiving a first Packet Data Network (PDN) activation request from a wireless local area network (WLAN) access gateway, the first PDN activation request specifying an access point name (APN) and a tunnel endpoint identifier (TEID) parameter for identifying the WLAN access gateway, the WLAN access gateway connected to a user equipment (UE). The method further includes in response to receiving the PDN activation request, the mobility management node (i) selecting a Packet Data Network Gateway (PGW) based on the specified APN, (ii) generating a second PDN activation session request that includes the TEID parameter for identifying the WLAN access gateway, (iii) selecting a serving gateway (SGW), and (iv) forwarding the second PDN activation request to the selected SGW.

Methods and network nodes for reuse of EPC session between 3GPP and WLAN

In one aspect, a method for a packet gateway node (PGW) is disclosed. The PGW being adapted for (a) communicating with at least a serving gateway node, SGW, (b) receiving and forwarding downlink data packets to a user entity, UE, and (c) communicating with a mobility management entity, MME. In one embodiment, the method comprises: the PGW, when receiving a downlink user plane data packet destined for the UE on a Packet Data Network, PDN, connection associated with a restarted SGW, determining if the PDN connection has not yet been relocated to a new SGW, and, if so, selecting at least one SGW from a set of SGWs including the restarted SGW or another SGW and transmitting a control plane signal to at least one of the selected SGWs, the control plane signal identifying at least the UE.

Mobile terminated call improvements

A method for assigning a cellular network identity. The method comprises receiving (), in a user equipment capable to attach to a cellular network and a wireless local area network, a unique representation of a user equipment context of the user equipment and in what cellular network node the user equipment is or is going to be attached, from a network node. A technique is provided for synchronizing a first call state of a network component and a second call state of a mobile device. The mobile device is connectable to a network via a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) and a second RAT. The network forwards towards a callee an invitation for a call originating via the first RAT from the mobile device. The network sends a first message corresponding to a callee response towards the mobile device. The network component triggers a transfer of the call session of the mobile device from the first RAT to the second RAT. The first call state is set by the response of the callee. Information indicative of the second call state is received from the mobile device, and a second message for changing the second call state by the response is provided to the mobile device when inconsistent first and second call states.

One embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a method implemented by a first gateway node for processing an emergency call from an untrusted non-3GPP access network. The method comprises: receiving an emergency call request initiated from a terminal device over an untrusted non-3GPP based access network; detecting an event of the emergency call depending upon the emergency network access identifier included in the request message; selecting for the terminal device an emergency access point name that identifies an external network providing an emergency call service; and establishing for the terminal device an emergency call session with a second gateway node interfacing with the external network which is identified by the selected emergency access point name. According to an aspect of the present disclosure, there are provided corresponding methods and devices.

Methods and devices for facilitating emergency calls over wireless communication systems

A technique for triggering a change of a call state of a mobile device is presented. A network forwards towards a callee an invitation for a call originating via a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) from the mobile device, and forwards a response of the callee via the first RAT towards the mobile device. The response indicates a change of the call state from a first state to a second state. A first network component changes via a second RAT the call state of the mobile device when receiving information indicative of the first state followed by receiving a message indicative of the second state. A second network component receives from the first network component an invitation for a transfer of the call of mobile device from the first RAT to the second RAT.

Technique for transferring a session with changeable session state

A method for a fallback core network node within core network nodes for a first mobile terminated call towards a mobile subscriber initially assigned to a failing ore network node (failing CNN). The method includes receiving data associated to International Mobile Subscriber Identity and Location Area Identifier (LAI) of a mobile subscriber handled in the failing CNN. The method includes receiving a service request from a home location register (HLR), whereby the service request indicates that the fallback CNN is acting as a fallback CNN for the failing CNN, and sending a response to the service request towards the HLR comprising the roaming Number assigned by the fallback CNN. Method for allowing a successful first mobile terminated call towards a mobile subscriber initially assigned to a failing core network node

A network node, and a method at the network node, for handing over a mobile terminal between a first RAT and a second RAT in a wireless communications network. In some embodiments, the method comprises establishing a PDN connection with the mobile terminal via the first RAT, receiving a request for handover of the mobile terminal from the first RAT to the second RAT, performing the requested handover, maintaining PDN connection context for the PDN connection established via the first RAT for a time period, and releasing the PDN connection context at expiry of the time period.
