A dimming method is to be implemented by a brightness divider, and includes steps of: (A) determining whether a brightness value is smaller than or equal to a predetermined reference value; (B) when it is determined in step (A) that the brightness value is smaller than or equal to the predetermined reference value, setting a magnitude value that is related to a current generator, and setting a pulse width value that is related to a switch based on the brightness value; and (C) when it is determined in step (A) that the brightness value is not smaller than or equal to the predetermined reference value, setting the magnitude value based on the brightness value, the predetermined reference value and a predetermined order setting, and setting the pulse width value based on the predetermined reference value.

A scan-type display apparatus includes a light emitting module, a display module, a control module and a driver module. The driver module generates a plurality of switching signals and an image refresh signal based on the SC signal. The switching signals cause the LED array to emit light in a line scan manner. The image refresh signal is related to one of the switching signals that corresponds to a last line of the line scan in each line scan cycle, and is further related to refreshing of images on a display constituted by the light emitting module and the display module.

A driving method is to be implemented by a driver module, is adapted to drive a scan-type display, and includes steps of: receiving an image stream and a synchronization control (SC) signal from a control module; generating a drive output based on the SC signal, the image stream and a clock signal to drive the display such that the display emits light in a line scan manner; and generating an image refresh signal based on the SC signal and the drive output. The image refresh signal is related to refreshing of images on the display.

A driving device includes a control unit, a switch unit and a driver unit. The control unit is configured to generate a gray scale output and a synchronization signal. The switch unit is coupled to an LED array, and switches among different conduction states based on a switching output. The driver unit is coupled to the control unit, the switch unit and the LED array. The driver unit generates the switching output based on a clock signal and the synchronization signal, and generates drive outputs for receipt by the LED array based on the clock signal, the gray scale output and the synchronization signal, so as to drive the LED array to emit light.

A backlight driving method is provided to include generating switching signals based on an internal synchronization control (ISC) signal related to refreshing of images on the display, a clock signal, and delay commands contained in a serial input signal that further contains an image stream. A time delay of each switching signal with respect to the ISC signal is determined by the clock signal and a respective delay command, and the time delays of the switching signals are different from one another. The method further includes generating driving signals based on the ISC signal, the clock signal and the serial input signal; and outputting the signals thus generated, to drive the backlight module to emit light in a line scan manner.
