Liquid dispensing systems which automatically sanitize the liquid and liquid-contacting parts of a liquid dispensing system, by periodically flushing the system with a sufficiently heated, liquid and/or gas.

A liquid dispensing apparatus with a child-safety feature which, in one preferred embodiment, does not permit dispensing unless both a dispensing handle and an associated lever are each independently moved. In another embodiment, dispensing is prevented unless a manually-depressable, rotatable dispensing lever and a rotatable safety lock are both simultaneously actuated.

A water cooler with a detachable exterior panel may have a wrapper with at least one detachable panel, and one or more tensioning devices to cause the exterior panel to be placed in frictional and removable engagement against the wrapper.
