A head mounted display apparatus and a distance measurement device are provided. The distance measurement device includes an image capturing device, a lens set, a position adjuster, and a controller. The position adjuster is configured to adjust positions of the image capturing device and the lens set. The position adjuster respectively adjusts the positions of the image capturing device and the lens set at a plurality of time points. The image capturing device respectively obtains a plurality of images of a target area at the plurality of time points. The controller accordingly obtains a separation distance between the lens set and the target area according to the plurality of images.

Head mounted display apparatus and distance measurement device thereof

A head mounted display (HMD) includes a first transparent light source, a first micro-lens array panel and a first transparent LCD panel. The first transparent light source emits a plurality of pin-lights along a first light projection path. The first micro-lens array panel having a plurality of micro-lens, and the micro-lens respectively receive the pin-lights and adjust characteristics of projection surfaces of the pin-lights to generate a plurality of adjusted lights. The first transparent LCD panel receives the adjusted lights and generates a first display image according to the adjusted lights.

Head mounted display device with wide field of view

A head mounted display apparatus and an eye-tracking apparatus thereof are provided. The eye-tracking apparatus includes a first wave guide apparatus, a voltage control beam splitter, a first beam splitter, and an image capture apparatus. The voltage control beam splitter provides a first light path between the image capture apparatus, the voltage control beam splitter, and a target zone according to a control signal during a first time period. The voltage control beam splitter provides a second light path between the image capture apparatus, the first wave guide apparatus, the first beam splitter, and the target zone according to the control signal during a second time period. The image capture apparatus respectively captures a first image and a second image of the target zone through the first light path and the second light path.

Head mounted display apparatus and eye-tracking apparatus thereof

A head-mounted display device including a display system and a light modulator is provided. The display system is configured to selectively display a first content to be visually recognized as being superimposed on a scenery of a surrounding environment, or not display the first content. The light modulator, positioned between the display system and the surrounding environment, includes an array of pixels, wherein a portion of the pixels is configured to modulate light to present a display of a second content, while the rest of the pixels are configured to be substantially transparent to light.

Head-mounted display devices and adaptive masking methods thereof

An inverter and a control method are disclosed herein. The inverter includes a first switching circuit, a second switching circuit, and a DC-AC converting circuit. The first switching circuit is configured to selectively switch between connecting a first input terminal receiving an AC source and an output terminal of the inverter, and connecting a second input terminal receiving a DC source and the output terminal of the inverter. The second switching circuit is configured such that the first input terminal and the output terminal are connected during the switching process of the first switching circuit. The DC-AC converting circuit is electrically coupled between the second input terminal and the first switching circuit and configured to be operated in a current control mode to convert the DC source to AC power when the first switching circuit is switched to connect the second input terminal and the output terminal.

Inverter and control method thereof

A hand-held electronic apparatus, an image capturing apparatus and a method for obtaining depth information are provided. The image capturing apparatus includes a time of fly (TOF) image capturer, a TOF controller, a main and sub image capturers, and a controller. The TOF image capturer calculates a TOF depth map according to a TOF image, defines an effective region and an un-effective region according to the TOF depth map, and obtains a first depth information set of the effective region. The main and sub image capturers captures a first and second images, respectively. The controller obtains a second depth information set of the un-effectively region by comparing the first and second images, and generates an overall depth map by combining the first depth information set and the second depth information set.

Methods and systems for generating long shutter frames are provided. First, frames are captured or obtained from a video file. A weight is assigned to the respective frame. The frames are composed according to the corresponding weights to generate a long shutter frame.

An embodiment of the invention provides a 3D camera module. The 3D camera module comprise a first lens, a second lens, a shutter control device, a first mirror, a second mirror and an image sensor. The first lens receives a first light beam. The second lens receives a second light beam. The shutter control device to control the first lens and the second camera and only one of the first shutter and the second shutter is turned on in one time period. The first mirror reflects the first light beam to the image sensor. The second mirror reflects the second light beam to the image sensor. The image sensor receives the first light beam and the second light beam to capture a first image and a second image and a 3D image is generated according to the first image and the second image.

Methods and systems for generating HDR (High Dynamic Range) images are provided. First, frames are continuously captured, wherein the respective frames are captured with a same exposure time. At least one intermediary frame is then generated according to at least one of the frames. The at least one intermediary frame is composed using a HDR composition algorithm to generate a HDR image.

A camera device is provided. The camera device includes a flash unit, an image capture module, and a controller. The flash unit generates a preset flash with a predetermined Correlated Color Temperature value to illuminate an object, and the image capture module captures a test image from the object when the preset flash illuminates the object. The controller determines an adjusted CCT value according to a color difference between the test image and a predetermined color. When the controller has determined the adjusted CCT value, the flash unit generates an adjusted flash with the adjusted CCT value to illuminate the object. When the adjusted flash illuminates the object, the image capture module captures an adjusted image.

A portable electronic device is provided, including a housing, a display module, an optical element and a switchable layer. The housing has a first surface and an opaque layer disposed under the first surface, the opaque layer having a first aperture and a second aperture. The display module is disposed under the first surface and overlapped with the first aperture. The optical element is disposed under the opaque layer. The switchable layer is disposed between the optical element and the second aperture and overlapping the second aperture, wherein the switchable layer is capable of being switched between a substantially opaque state and a substantially transparent state. The substantially opaque state prevents viewing of the optical element through the switchable layer and the substantially transparent state allows viewing of the optical element through the switchable layer.

The image capturing apparatus includes a main image capturer, an auxiliary image capturer and a controller. The main image capturer performs an image capturing operation on a target object according to a detection focusing distance. The auxiliary image capturer is disposed adjacent to the main image capturer. The auxiliary image capturer performs a plurality of focusing operations on the target object according to a plurality of focusing distances, and generates a plurality of image contrast values. The controller controls the main image capturer and the auxiliary image capturer. The controller selects one of the focusing distances to be the detection focusing distance according to the image contrast values.

Handheld electronic apparatus and image capturing apparatus and focusing method thereof

An image capturing device and a method thereof are provided. The image capturing device includes an image sensor and a processor. The image sensor includes a color filter array and a sensor chip. The color filter array includes a first region permitting visible light and infrared light to pass and a second region permitting the infrared light to pass. The sensor chip obtains a target image through the color filter array, wherein the target image includes a composite image corresponding to the first region and a first group infrared image corresponding to the second region, and the composite image includes a second group infrared image, where the second group infrared image and the first group infrared image are linear correlated. The processor adjusts a proportion of the second group infrared image in the composite image by employing the first group infrared image, so as to generate a processed image.

Image capturing device and method thereof

An image processing apparatus includes a camera module, first and second pixel extraction interfaces, an image processing module, and a focus controller. The camera module includes a lens, a sensor aligned with the lens along a direction, and a focus actuator connected to the lens. The first and the second pixel extraction interfaces are connected to the sensor to acquire a first image at a first frame rate and a second image at a second frame rate, respectively; the second frame rate is greater than the first frame rate. The image processing module determines depth information according to the second image, receives the first image and outputs a corresponding image file. The focus controller is connected between the image processing module and the focus actuator to drive the focus actuator according to the depth information and to adjust a relative distance between the sensor and the lens.

Image processing device and method for controlling the same

An electronic apparatus and a backlight brightness control method thereof are provided. The control method includes the following steps. Detection of an ambient brightness for the electronic apparatus is made to output an ambient brightness signal. Next, whether to adjust the backlight brightness for the display is determined according to a comparison between the ambient brightness signal and a current backlight brightness. If the comparison result indicates that the ambient brightness decrement is lower than a decrement threshold, then an adjustment value is selected from a plurality of step sizes according to the current backlight brightness to decrease the backlight brightness gradually, so that the backlight brightness changes towards a target backlight brightness corresponding to the ambient brightness signal. The step sizes include a first step size and a second step size. The backlight brightness for the display is adjusted according to the current backlight brightness and the adjustment value.
