A display device includes a display panel including pixels, a data driver configured to provide a data signal and an emission voltage to the pixels through the data lines, a scan driver configured to provide a scan signal to the pixels through the scan lines, a power voltage provider configured to provide a high power voltage to the pixels through a high power voltage line and to provide a low power voltage to the pixels through a low power voltage line, and a timing controller configured to generate control signals that control the data driver and the scan driver. The display panel includes a power controller that determines whether the data line is coupled to the high power voltage line or to the low power voltage line.

Organic light emitting diode display

An organic light emitting display (OLED) apparatus has an improved structure so as to decrease a capacitance load between a power line and a control signal line. The OLED display apparatus includes a first substrate on which a thin film transistor (TFT) and an organic light emitting diode are disposed; a second substrate facing towards and spaced apart from the first substrate; a power line via which a voltage is applied to the source and drain electrodes of the TFT, and to the second electrode of the OLED; and a control signal line providing a control signal to the embedded circuit so as to control timing for supplying current to the gate electrode of the TFT. The control signal line is laid-out at an outer portion of the first substrate with respect to a position of the power line.

Organic light emitting display apparatus

An organic light emitting diode display includes a substrate, a display unit that includes a common power line and a common electrode, an encapsulation substrate that is attached to the substrate by an adhering layer enclosing the display unit and includes a resin matrix and a plurality of carbon fiber. The display includes a first conductive portion and a second conductive portion. The first conductive portion is on a first inner surface region, a first side surface region, and a first outer surface region of the encapsulation substrate. The first conductive portion is adapted to supply a first electrical signal to the common power line. The second conductive portion is on a second inner surface region, a second side surface region, and a second outer surface region of the encapsulation substrate. An organic light emitting display includes: an organic light emitting display panel including a display unit; pixel power source out lead bonding (OLB) pads located on first through fourth external side edges of the display unit to supply a pixel power to the display unit; pixel power source lines coupled to the pixel power source OLB pads to provide the pixel power to the display unit; pixel power supply flexible printed circuit boards bonded to the pixel power source OLB pads; signal OLB pads located on at least one external side edge among the first through fourth external side edges to supply a plurality of driving signals to the display unit; signal lines coupled to the signal OLB pads to provide the driving signals to the display unit; and tape carrier packages mounted with driving ICs and bonded to the signal OLB pads.

Embodiments may include an OLED display including a substrate, a display unit over the substrate and including a plurality of pixels, a conductive contact layer outside the display unit at a distance from the display unit, and a sealing member facing the display unit and fixed to the substrate by the conductive contact layer. The sealing member may include a plurality of metal layers laminated with an insulating adhesive layer, the insulating adhesive layer being between the metal layers, and a supporting layer neighboring the metal layers with the insulating adhesive layer being between the supporting layer and the metal layers. The plurality of metal layers may be electrically connected to the display unit through the conductive contact layer.

Organic light emitting diode display with specific sealing member

A display device includes a display panel having a display region formed with a plurality of thin film transistors, a light emitting layer disposed in the display region, and a driver supplying a driving signal including a gate signal and a data signal to the thin film transistors. A display device includes a first pixel and a second pixel. The first pixel and the second pixel are defined by a first gate bus line, a second gate bus line, a first power supply line and a second power supply line. A data bus line between the first supply line and the second supply line divides the first pixel from the second pixel line. Accordingly, the pixel shares a data bus line or a power supply line with adjacent pixel. Advantageously, thereby, more space between lines prevents defects caused during fabricating the display device and improve a reliability of the display device.

Display apparatus with transistors connected to sub-pixel electrodes

A display device capable of expressing gradations with improved accuracy is presented. The device includes: a switching thin film transistor (TFT) and a driving TFT on an insulating substrate; a first electrode electrically connected with the driving TFT; a light emitting layer; a second electrode that supplies a common voltage to the light emitting layer; and a data driver that supplies the switching TFT with a data voltage ranging from a first voltage to a second voltage. The first voltage, the second voltage and the common voltage satisfy the equations: 1) First voltage&#x2212;common voltage&#x2212;voltage dropped by light emitting layer=black voltage&#xb1;0.1|black voltage&#x2212;white voltage|; 2) Second voltage&#x2212;common voltage&#x2212;voltage dropped by light emitting layer=white voltage&#xb1;0.1|black voltage&#x2212;white voltage|. The black voltage and the white voltage refer to gate-source voltages (V) that express the lowest gradation and the highest gradation, respectively.

Display device with improved gradation expression and driving method of the same

A display device is provided, which includes: light emitting elements; switching transistors transmitting data signals in response to scanning signals; driving transistors, each driving transistor electrically connected to a driving signal line and one of the switching transistors and supplying a current to the light emitting elements in response to an output signal of the one of the switching transistors and the driving signal of the driving signal line; and a first capacitor electrically connected between each driving transistor and each driving signal line; and a second capacitor electrically connected between each light emitting element and each driving transistor, wherein the first and the second capacitors transmit the driving signal by capacitive coupling.
