High performance OLED that includes deuterated compounds in the emissive layer are disclosed. The OLED includes an anode; a cathode; and an emissive layer, disposed between the anode and the cathode. In the OLED, the emissive layer includes a first phosphorescent emitter and a first host; the first phosphorescent emitter is a metal complex; the first host is partially or fully deuterated; and at least one additional condition is true.

Organic electroluminescent materials and devices

Provided are compounds of formula Ir(L)(L), where m and n are each independently 1 or 2; and m+n=3; where Lhas a structure of Formula I and Lhas a structure of Formula II that are useful as emitters in OLEDs. Also provided are formulations comprising these compounds. Further provided are OLEDs and related consumer products that utilize these compounds.

Metal complexes with cyclic ligands having Formula (I), are disclosed. Ligands with cyclic structure are believed to be beneficial to the rigidity and stability of the metal complexes, which is desirable for improving OLED device performance.

A compound comprising a ligand Lcomprising a moiety L having a structure of Formula I is provided. In Formula I, Lcoordinated to a metal M; Ais selected from B, N, P, P═O, P═S, Al, Ga, SiR″, GeR″, and SnR″; where rings A, B, and C are 5- or 6-membered rings; Y, Y, and Yare selected from direct bonds, the metal M, and a variety of linkers; a+b+c=2 or 3; and one of a number of specific conditions is met. OLED devices, consumer products, and formulations including the compound are also provided.

New organometallic complexes having bis- or tris-heteroleptic ligands and large aspect ratio in one direction and their use in OLEDs to enhance the efficiency is disclosed. Such compounds can have a structure of Formula III, where rings A, B, C, and D are ring; Land Leach a direct bond or a linking group; nand nare 0 or 1; if nor nis 1, then Lor Lis a direct bond or a linking group, and if nor nis 0, Lor Lis not present; Q, Q, Qand Qare a direct bond or oxygen; ring A is trans to ring D, ring B is trans to ring C in a square-planar coordination configuration; Mis Pt, and the compound comprises at least one Pt-carbene bond.

Tetradentate organic electroluminescent materials and devices

The present invention discloses novel Pt(IV) compounds useful for enhancing the performance of organic electroluminescent devices.

Provided is an OLED that includes, sequentially: an anode; a first emissive region; and a cathode; wherein the first emissive region comprises: a first compound; and a second compound; wherein the first compound is capable of functioning as a perovskite emitter in an OLED; wherein the second compound is capable of functioning as an emitter in an OLED, wherein the second compound is selected from the group consisting of phosphorescent emitters, fluorescent emitters, and delayed fluorescent emitters.

A compound including a first ligand Lof is disclosed. In the structure of Formula I, one of Land Lis C, and the other is N; Yto Yare each C or N; at least two adjacent Y, Y, Y, and Yare carbon atoms that are fused to a structure of Zand Zare each O, S, Se, NR, CRR', or SiRR′; and each R, R′, R, R, R, and Ris hydrogen or a substituent; and any two substituents may be joined or fused together to form a ring. In the compound, Lis complexed to a metal M by Land L, and M has an atomic weight greater than 40. Organic light emitting devices and consumer products containing the compounds are also disclosed.

A compound having a structure of Formula I is disclosed, where at least one of Rand Rthat is ortho to a boron atom of Formula I comprises a structure selected from (9-carbazolyl)-carbazole, indolocarbazole, triphenylene, fluorene, dibenzothiophene, dibenzofuran, dibenzoselenophene, pyridine, pyrimidine, triazine, aza-triphenylene, aza-fluorene, aza-carbazole, aza-dibenzothiophene, aza-dibenzofuran, and aza-dibenzoselenophene.

Host materials for electroluminescent devices

The present invention relates to novel light-emitting materials. These materials comprise a side chain that includes a fully deuterated or partially deuterated alkyl chain. This new side chain could improve device lifetime compared to nondeuterated side chains.

A compound is disclosed that has a metal coordination complex structure having at least two ligands coordinated to the metal; wherein the compound has a first substituent Rat one of the ligands' periphery; wherein a first distance is defined as the distance between the metal and one of the atoms in Rwhere that atom is the farthest away from the metal among the atoms in R; wherein the first distance is also longer than any other atom-to-metal distance between the metal and any other atoms in the compound; and wherein when a sphere having a radius r is defined whose center is at the metal and the radius r is the smallest radius that will allow the sphere to enclose all atoms in the compound that are not part of R, the first distance is longer than the radius r by at least 2.9 Å.

A compound including a first ligand Lhaving a structure of Formula I is disclosed. The compound is useful a an emitter dopants in OLEDs for enhancing the OLED performance.

Novel Iridium complexes having three different bidentate ligands useful for phosphorescent emitters in OLEDs are disclosed. At least one of the three different bidentate ligands is a carbene ligand.

Organic light emitting materials and devices comprising phosphorescent metal complexes comprising ligands comprising aryl or heteroaryl groups substituted at both ortho positions are described. An organic light emitting device, comprising: an anode, a hole transport layer; an organic emissive layer comprising an emissive layer host and an emissive dopant; an electron impeding layer, and electron transport layer, and a cathode disposed, in that order, over a substrate.
