An apparatus, system, and method for are provided. A device includes a time-to-digital converter (TDC) situated to convert a time-domain signal to a digital value, a delay circuit situated in parallel with the TDC and to delay the time-domain signal by a specified amount of time resulting in a delayed time-domain signal, a time-to-voltage converter (TVC) situated to produce a voltage-domain signal based on the delayed time-domain signal, and a successive approximation (SAR) circuit situated to receive the digital value and the voltage-domain signal and produce a digital-domain version of the input signal.

Various aspects of this disclosure provide a receiver. The receiver may include a down-converter configured to down-convert a received communication signal at a predefined carrier frequency, with a reference signal received from a reference signal generator, and a processor configured to perform a signal quality detection to identify a signal quality metric of the received communication signal at the predefined carrier frequency, and to provide a frequency adjusting signal to the reference signal generator to change the frequency of the reference signal based on the performed signal quality detection to identify the signal quality metric of the received communication signal at the predefined carrier frequency.

Some of the apparatuses include a phase frequency detector to generate output information having a value based on a relationship between a first clock signal and a second clock signal, a memory element to store the values of the output information, a digital control oscillator to generate the second clock signal having a phase and frequency based on a digital code, the digital code having a value based on control information, and circuitry to generate the control information based on conditions determined at least from the values stored in the memory element.

Embodiments of a calibration circuit for a current source which may include a first control switch, a second control switch, and a capacitor. In embodiments, the first control switch may be operable to couple the capacitor to the current source and the second control switch may be operable to couple the capacitor to a reference current source to enable the capacitor to be charged or discharged according to a first control signal provided to the first control switch and a second control signal provided to the second control switch. In embodiments, the calibration circuit may be included in a digital-to-analog (DAC) converter.
