A control signal is provided for turning on and turning off a lamp of a backlight source. For a first duration when the liquid crystal is rotating, adjust a frequency of the control signal to turn on and turn off the lamp of the backlight source consecutively or adjust a duty cycle of the control signal to turn off and then turn on the lamp of the backlight source. Thus, the backlight source has a luminance value for the first duration, and the control signal turns on the lamp of the backlight source for a second duration when the liquid crystal is in the steady state.

Method of scanning backlight driving lamps for an LCD

An image compression/decompression device and a method thereof are provided. In the method, a first array is generated according to an input image array, and further, a second array is generated by performing an edge detection algorithm according to the input image array. Besides, a plurality of elements of a third array is generated according to the first array. Furthermore, a group of elements of the third array is selected according to the second array. In addition, an average value of the group of elements is computed to obtain an element of an output image array. Each element of the input image array and the third array is M bits, and each element of the first array is N bits, wherein M and N are natural numbers, and M is larger than N. Thereby, the quality of a decompressed image is improved.

A plasma display panel and a manufacturing method of barrier ribs thereof are provided. The plasma display panel is divided into a display area and a non-display area located in the periphery of the display area. When discharge space is formed in the display area by barrier ribs, a plurality of honeycomb supporting structures are formed in the non-display area at the same time. The honeycomb supporting structures can increase the yield factor of assembling the substrates, and then the display quality of the plasma display panels can be improved.
