The method includes: detecting, by a controller, whether or not the hot-swappable electronic device is in a power-on state; detecting, by the controller, whether or not a power connection port is connected to an alternating current power source when the hot-swappable electronic device is in the power-on state; detecting, by a first sensor and a second sensor, whether or not a first battery leaves a first battery installation groove and a second battery leaves a second battery installation groove when the power connection port is not connected to the alternating current power source; and lowering, by the controller, a system power consumption of the hot-swappable electronic device when the first battery leaves the first battery installation groove or the second battery leaves the second battery installation groove.

The sound quality evaluation system records playback of a test audio file on a plurality of playback devices to generate a plurality of pieces of audio data, and divides the audio data into a plurality of frequency bands. The electronic device includes a fan, temperature sensor, and processor. The method includes steps of: limiting the processor's performance, upon determination that not only is the fan's rotation speed greater than or equal to a predetermined upper rotation speed limit, but the electronic device's temperature sensed by the temperature sensor is also greater than or equal to a predetermined upper temperature limit; determining whether the fan's rotation speed is less than or equal to a first restored rotation speed when the fan's rotation speed is determined to be less than the predetermined upper rotation speed limit; and stopping the limiting of the processor's performance when the fan's rotation speed is determined to be less than or equal to the first restored rotation speed.

A size determination method for a document processing device is provided. The document processing device includes an automatic document feeding module. The automatic document feeding module includes a support tray, an entrance and a detecting module. The detecting module includes a front-row detector and plural rear-row detectors. The size determination method includes following steps. Firstly, a document with plural originals is placed on the support tray and inserted into the entrance. Then, a selected original of the document is transported. When the selected original is detected by the front-row detector, the plural rear-row detectors are powered on. The selected original is continuously transported, and the plural rear-row detectors are operated in a detection mode. Then, a size of the selected original is determined according to detection results of the plural rear-row detectors and a transfer time of the selected original.

A sheet size detecting mechanism includes a sheet guiding module, a sensing module and a control unit. The sensing module includes a contact element and a circuit board. The circuit board includes a first conducting part, a second conducting part and plural fixed resistors. The first conducting part includes plural conductive segments. The plural conductive segments are connected with the corresponding fixed resistors, respectively. While the sheet guiding module is moved relative to the sheet input tray, the contact element is moved with the sheet guiding module. When the electric connection between a first conductive segment and the second conducting part is established through the contact element, the corresponding fixed resistor provides a resistance value, and the circuit board issues a sensing signal according to the resistance value. The control unit acquires the size of the paper sheet according to the sensing signal.

The heating method includes following steps: driving the heater according to a duty ratio by using electrical energy of a power module. If the output voltage of the power module is greater than a first threshold, set the duty ratio as a first ratio. If the output voltage of the power module is less than a second threshold, set the duty ratio as a second ratio. If the output voltage of the power module is between the first threshold and the second threshold, adjust the duty ratio so that the difference between the output voltage of the power module and the second threshold is positively proportional to the duty ratio.

An electronic device including a control unit, an embedded controller and a battery module is provided. During a booting procedure of the electronic device, the embedded controller reads a reported battery capacity and a battery temperature of the battery module. The embedded controller determines whether the reported battery capacity is lower than a minimum capacity, and further determines whether the battery temperature is lower than a minimum temperature when the reported battery capacity is lower than the minimum capacity. When the reported capacity is lower than the minimum capacity and the battery temperature is also lower than the minimum temperature, the embedded controller generates a fake battery capacity, according to which an operating system of the electronic device performs various operations. In this application, the battery module of the electronic device remains working even when the electronic device is in a low-temperature and low-battery activation environment.

A sensing data reading device and method applied to an electronic device are provided. The sensing data reading device supports a first operating system and a second operating system. N is a positive integer. The slope of a (i+1)function segment is greater than that of an ifunction segment, and i is a positive integer in the range from 1 to N.
