The present invention relates to a catalyst precursor for forming a molybdenum disulfide catalyst through a reaction with sulfur in heavy oil and to a method for hydrocracking heavy oil by using same. According to the present invention, the yield of a low-boiling liquid product with a high economic value in the products by heavy oil cracking can be increased, and the yield of a relatively uneconomical gas product or coke (toluene insoluble component), which is a byproduct, can be significantly lowered.

Method for converting heavy oil by means of high asphaltene dispersion

Provided are a method of manufacturing a high silica zeolite using a recovered silica filtrate, and a high silica zeolite manufactured according to the method. To this end, the present invention provides the method of manufacturing the high silica zeolite using the recovered silica filtrate, including manufacturing a solated agglomerated silica from the silica filtrate including a metal salt (step 1); filtering and washing the solated agglomerated silica of step 1 to manufacture a silica cake from which the metal salt is removed (step 2); peptizing the silica cake to manufacture a silica sol (step 3); and manufacturing the high silica zeolite using the silica sol manufactured in step 3 as a silica source (step 4). Further, the present invention provides a high silica zeolite manufactured from a recovered silica filtrate through the manufacturing method and having a Si/Al mole ratio of 5 or more. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a process of manufacturing a high silica zeolite, in which economic feasibility, a manufacturing cost, and a manufacturing time of process steps are reduced, by reusing a recovered silica filtrate to manufacture the zeolite.

Disclosed are a molecular sieve catalyst and a preparation method thereof to produce light olefins from cracking naphtha catalytically in severe environments of high temperature and high moisture. In detail, the catalyst is prepared by spray-drying and calcining the mixed slurry, in which 0.01&#x2dc;5.0 wt % of MnOand 1&#x2dc;15 wt % of POare simultaneously imbedded in catalyst which consists of zeolite, clay and inorganic complex. According to the present invention, the method that manganese and phosphate are imbedded simultaneously in zeolite and inorganic complex is used to increases thermal-stability of obtained spherical catalyst, and increase olefin yield of cracking hydrocarbon such as naphtha by protecting acid-site of zeolite. To synthesize the required catalyst, the important procedures are mixing ratio and mixing sequence of Mn, P, zeolite, and inorganic complex.

A method of preparing ZSM-5, including: providing a nanocrystalline ZSM-5 seed having a size of 70-150 nm; adding the nanocrystalline ZSM-5 seed to a stock solution including water glass as a silica source, an alumina source, a neutralizer and water to form a reaction mixture; and maintaining the reaction mixture at 150-200&#xb0; C. to crystallize the reaction mixture. The method is advantageous in that ZSM-5 having small and uniform crystal sizes and including no impurities can be synthesized in a short period of time.

Disclosed is a process for producing light olefins from hydrocarbon feedstock. The process is characterized in that a porous molecular sieve catalyst consisting of a product obtained by evaporating water from a raw material mixture comprising a molecular sieve with a framework of Si&#x2014;OH&#x2014;Al&#x2014; groups, a water-insoluble metal salt, and a phosphate compound, is used to produce light olefins, particularly ethylene and propylene, from hydrocarbon, while maintaining excellent selectivity to light olefins. According to the process, by the use of a specific catalyst with hydrothermal stability, light olefins can be selectively produced in high yield with high selectivity from hydrocarbon feedstock, particularly full-range naphtha. In particular, the process can maintain higher cracking activity than the reaction temperature required in the prior thermal cracking process for the production of light olefins, and thus, can produce light olefins with high selectivity and conversion from hydrocarbon feedstock.

A porous solid acid catalyst for producing light olefins is prepared through pillaring and a solid state reaction of a raw material mixture. The catalyst is made of a porous material having a crystalline structure that is different from that of the raw material mixture. The catalyst exhibits excellent catalytic activity (i.e., conversion and selectivity) in the production of light olefins from hydrocarbon feeds such as full range naphthas.

Disclosed are a hydrothermally stable porous molecular sieve catalyst and a preparation method thereof. The catalyst consists of a product obtained by the evaporation of water from a raw material mixture comprising a molecular sieve having a framework of Si&#x2014;OH&#x2014;Al&#x2014;, a water-insoluble metal salt and a phosphate compound. The catalyst maintains its physical and chemical stabilities even in an atmosphere of high temperature and humidity. Accordingly, the catalyst shows excellent catalytic activity even when it is used in a severe process environment of high temperature and humidity in heterogeneous catalytic reactions, such as various oxidation/reduction reactions, including catalytic cracking reactions, isomerization reactions, alkylation reactions and esterification reactions.

Hydrothermally stable microporous molecular sieve catalyst and preparation method thereof

The present invention provides a method for preparing a catalyst for the reduction of nitrogen oxides by the use of natural gas as a reducing agent in an excess oxygen atmosphere, which comprises of filling zeolite with an organic compound having molecular weight of 100&tilde;250 prior to loading catalytically active noble metal components on a zeolite. Since the method according to the present invention supports catalytic active noble metal components on a zeolite under the condition that the pores of zeolite are filled with organic compounds, the noble metal component, which is essential for forming highly active NOx reduction catalyst, can be supported precisely on the desired positions of zeolite pores. Therefore, the NOx reduction catalysts prepared by the present invention are very useful for the purification of exhaust gas in an excessive oxygen atmosphere such as gas turbines, boilers or lean-burn automobiles.

Method for preparing noble metal-supported zeolite catalyst for catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxide

The present invention relates to a process for preparing hydroxylated aromatics by using hydrogen and oxygen and more particularly, to a process for preparing hydroxylated aromatics by using hydrogen and oxygen with a two-component heterogeneous catalyst. One component consists of porous catalyst containing one of Group VIII B transition metals such as Pd, Pt, Au and Cu, and hydrogen transfer organic compounds such as anthraquinone. The other component consists of a catalyst containing a transition metal selected from Ti, V, and Sn with tetrahedral coordination geometry. The main advantages of this new catalytic system are to 1) overcome the drawbacks of liquid phase oxidation using conventional homogeneous catalysts, 2) avoid use of expensive hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant, and 3) improve the selectivity of the reaction.

The invention herein relates to a direct manufacturing method of hydrogen peroxide over zeolite, wherein transition metals such as palladium or platinum, and organic compounds such as 2-alkyl anthraquinone or the like are encapsulated onto the zeolite channels, and then reducing agents such as hydrogen, ammonia or alcohol are used in the reaction temperature range of 10.about.90.degree. C. under atmospheric pressure. In general, alkyl anthiraquinone used in the conventional manufacturing, method of hydrogen peroxide can be easily hydrogenated in a relatively mild temperature condition in the range of room temperature to 100.degree. C. by means of a compound having hydrogen. However, the use of alkyl anthraquinone in the reaction is problematic due to the fact that it can only be utilized in a working solution with a solvent which can effectively dissolve alkyl anthraquinoe. The invention herein provides a method of directly manufacturing hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solution, which can overcome the problems of the conventional methods, wherein the compounds which can transfer hydrogen such as alkyl anthraquinone or the like are encapsulated onto the zeolite pores.
