The bag of the present invention is a self standing bag having a pair of pivotal legs secured proximate its upper extent. These legs are adapted to be retracted when the bag is lifted from the ground. A pair of straps enable the bag to be carried upon both shoulders of a user in a backpack style. Additionally, in order to ease the weight of the bag upon a user, the each of the straps is partially filled with a gel. Furthermore, the upper portion of each of the straps is secured to the bag by way of a shock absorber. This shock absorber includes upper and lower components which are interconnected by a pair of springs.

Carrying system for a self standing golf bag

A golf bag with integrally formed, automatically retractable golf bag stand is provided including a golf bag having a rigid open top and a rigid closed bottom with a tubular intermediate portion therebetween. The top is open for the positioning of golf clubs therethrough for support on the bottom and within an interior space of the intermediate. The bag further includes a pivotal foot pivotally coupled to the bottom of the bag. A pair of legs are pivotally coupled with respect to the bag. The legs have lower ends adapted to support the bag in a tripod orientation in association with the bottom of the bag. A pair of actuation rods have upper ends pivotally coupled to the legs and lower ends coupled to the pivotal foot at the bottom of the bag. As such, resting the bag on a recipient surface and pivoting it forwardly pushes the actuation rod upwardly to extend the legs outwardly in a tripod orientation and the lifting of the bag will allow the foot to move downwardly in co-planar relationship with the planar extent of the bottom to retract the legs for carrying the bag.

A golf bag with an associated stand comprising a bag bottom and a bag top formed of a generally rigid material with a separator of a generally rigid material and an enclosure and a guide bracket fixedly secured to the bag with a circular bore extending therethrough in a vertical orientation and a foot pivotally secured through a foot pivot point to the leg bottom; a first link formed as an elongated activating rod having a lower end secured to the foot and having an upper end with an intermediate portion slidably received within the guide bracket; a second link formed as a pair of legs having lower ends positionable in a retracted orientation adjacent to the lower end of the bag and positionable in a deployed orientation remote from the bag, the legs having upper ends; a third link formed as a link having an interior end pivotally secured to the activating rod adjacent its upper end and having an exterior end pivotally attached to the upper ends of the legs and having an intermediate pivot point fixedly secured with respect to the bag; and a fourth link formed as a wire link with a lower end pivotally secured with respect to the activating rod and having an upper end pivotally secured to the legs adjacent to the L-shaped link.

A golf bag comprising a top formed in a generally cylindrical configuration with a lower surface and an upper surface. The top is formed with spacers forming openings and with a smaller front opening constituting a generally triangular putter well. The lower surface of the top is formed with at least one downwardly facing recess. A bottom is formed in a generally cylindrical configuration with a lower surface and with a peripheral wall terminating in an upper surface. The upper surface of the bottom is formed with at least one upwardly facing recess in alignment with the downwardly facing recess of the top. The bottom has a rearwardly extending wall adjacent to the lower surface and an aperture therethrough for constituting a handle. An exterior cover has an upper edge coupled over the periphery of the top adjacent to its lower surface and coupled over the periphery of the bottom adjacent to its upper surface. At least one essentially rigid support is provided with an upper end received within the downwardly facing recess of the top and with a lower end received within the upwardly facing recess of the bottom.
