A method for controlling the motion of a mobile warning triangle for suitable placement on a roadway acquires information as to color of the lane markings detected by a sensor. When the mobile warning triangle is first placed on the roadway, the sensor is preset in position to detect the lane marking. White or yellow color information of the lane marking or of the black-colored roadway are detected or are not detected by the sensor, and deviations from a required path are recognized when different colors are received in certain combinations by the sensor. If no deviation is recognized in the colors, the mobile warning triangle continues moving forward. If a deviation in colors is recognized, the mobile warning triangle is controlled to hunt to the left and right through one or more predetermined angles to try to detect or redetect the lane marking.

The bottom end is fixedly coupled to the base. The pulling assembly is located adjacent to the top end. The pulling assembly includes a spring and a drawstring that is resiliently coupled to the spring and that is stretchable relative to the spring. The plurality of driving members can manipulate the supporting units. Each of the supporting units is movable between a receiving or retracted position and a supporting or extended position. A warning apparatus includes a processor and a memory. The processor is configured to detect whether there is an object in front of the warning apparatus, calculate, when there is an object detected in front of the warning apparatus, a distance between the object and the warning apparatus, determine whether the calculated distance is less than a safe distance, and control the warning apparatus, when the calculated distance is less than the safe distance, to output a first control signal to control warning equipment to output a first warning.

The counting module counts a total pulses issued as the warning device moves from start to finish of a movement.
