Designs of a sampling controller working with memory chips are described. The designs enable a memory chip to work in high frequency clocks, resulting in high data throughput rate. A data sampling device includes a memory chip and a sampling controller. The sampling controller includes an asynchronous data memory. A data writing port of the asynchronous data memory receives a clock signal and employs the clock signal as a writing clock to store the sampling data into an internal memory and activate a data reading port thereof to read and output the sampling data.

Method, system, bus arbitration device for accessing a memory are described. According to one embodiment, priorities of N function modules accessing the memory are compared to obtain location information of a function module with the highest priority. A bus of the function modules accessing the memory is switched to the function module with the highest priority by performing logic operation on the location information and bus information of each function module. Further, a bus arbitration device including a priority arbitration unit and a bus switching unit is described.

Techniques for accessing memory, system and bus arbitration

Techniques pertaining to adjusting the operation frequency of a DRAM are disclosed. According to one embodiment, the DRAM operation frequency adjusting system includes a statistic module counting effective operations of a DRAM to obtain a bandwidth utilization rate of the DRAM at a present operation frequency; a parameter configuration module including a target frequency configuration sub-module configured to generate a target operation frequency; and a frequency switch controller for switching a present operation frequency of the DRAM to the target operation frequency. The invention adjusts the operation frequency of a DRAM according to the application environment, and creates a balance between performance and power consumption of DRAMs, and thus improves operation speed of system-on-chips as well as decreases the power consumption.

Operation frequency adjusting system and method

Techniques pertaining the designs of memory controller are disclosed. According to one aspect of the present invention, a memory controller reduces delays in a data strobe signal of a DDR memory relative to a clock signal of a memory controller thereof. In one embodiment, the memory controller employs four IO ports, two inverters, six edge triggers and a multiplexer. By feeding back an inverted clock signal and utilizing the rising and filing edges of the clock signal, the delays in a data strobe signal of a DDR memory relative to a clock signal of a memory controller are considerably reduced or minimized.
