The method further includes determining an amount of time that the host vehicle will spend in the bad network coverage zone, determining an amount of application data to cache as a function of the amount of time that the host vehicle will spend in the bad network coverage zone, and caching the amount of application data before the host vehicle reaches the bad network coverage zone.

A method for determining the route of a vehicle includes receiving, by a vehicle controller of a host vehicle, traffic-light data, map data, and vehicle-telemetry data. Further, the method includes identifying instances of chain waiting along the plurality of routes in the predetermined area using the traffic-light data and the vehicle-telemetry data and determining the fastest route of the plurality of routes to travel from a starting point to an end point within the predetermined area using the map data, the instances of chain waiting along the plurality of routes, the vehicle-telemetry data, and the traffic-light data.

A method for video streaming includes receiving video streaming data from a wireless camera. The camera is in wireless communication with a vehicle. The method further includes identifying a stable video region in the video streaming data received from the wireless camera, detecting stale video content in the video streaming data based on the stable video region, and in response to detecting the stale video content in the video streaming data, providing a notification to a vehicle occupant, via a display of the vehicle. The notification is indicative that a video streamed in the display of the vehicle is stale. The method described in this paragraph improves video and vehicle technology by identifying stale video content and notifying the vehicle occupant that the video is stale, thereby preventing the vehicle occupant from relying on stale video content.

Method and system for video stream time correction and latency detection

A method for video streaming includes receiving a video service request from a vehicle. The video service request is indicative of a request for a video content. The method further includes receiving a bandwidth prediction of a cellular network from the vehicle, and a list of available video codec configurations for a video content associated with the video service request. Moreover, method includes determining a selected video codec configuration based on the bandwidth prediction of the vehicle, determining that the selected video codec configuration is part of the list of available video codec configurations, and providing the video content to the vehicle using the selected video codec configuration.

A method for lateral assist includes receiving work-zone data. The work-zone data includes information about a location of a work zone and a geometry of the work zone. The method further includes determining a route of a vehicle using the work-zone data. Determining the route path of the vehicle includes selecting a lane segment using the work-zone data. The lane segment is adjacent to the work zone. Determining the route path further includes determining a lane departure tolerance for the lane segment previously selected using the work-zone data. A second control logic processes the input image data to maintain (Wi-Fi) bandwidth utilization within the vehicle below a predetermined threshold and maintains and maximizes real-time image data streaming quality through semantic segmentation and background memorization. A third control logic generates an output including background and foreground image portions. The output is transmitted to a human-machine interface (HMI) within the vehicle and periodically replaces the background portion with a cached background scene that is transmitted to the HMI.

The computer has a processor and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium, which stores player software components including multiple streaming protocols used by the media player to play a media stream. The processor is programmed to transmit to the camera a player setup signal including data associated with the player software components. The processor is further programmed to receive from the camera a media signal associated with a media stream generated by the camera by using a common one of the streaming protocols supported by the camera and the media player.

Each autonomous vehicle collects the image data related to the one or more events while following a unique travel schedule. The centralized scheduling system executes instructions to determine the unique travel schedule for a specific autonomous vehicle, where the unique travel schedule directs the specific autonomous vehicle to the specific location of the filtered event to collect the image data.

A system, method and server for a controlling a relation between a vehicle and traffic flow over a road segment. The system includes a telemetric device of the vehicle and a processor of the server. The telemetric device obtains telemetric data related to the road segment being traversed by the vehicle. The processor determines a property of the road segment based on the telemetric data and a road profile for the road segment, determines a disruption score indicative of a level of disruption in the traffic flow for the road segment based on the property, and outputs a notification signal when the disruption score is above a selected disruption threshold. The notification signal is usable for controlling the relation between the vehicle and the traffic flow.

Systems and method are provided for transmitting data from a vehicle using a Wi-Fi network. A method includes: collecting, by a processor, performance data associated with a plurality of access points in the Wi-Fi network; segmenting, by a processor, a route into a plurality of route segments; mapping, by a processor, the plurality of access points to the plurality of route segments; selecting, by a processor, a set of access points from the plurality of access points based on the collected performance data, wherein the set of access points comprises a selected access point for each route segment of the plurality of route segments; predicting, by a processor, a scanning channel based on the set of access points and a current location of the vehicle; and selectively transmitting, by a processor, packet data based on the set of access points, the scanning channel, and the associated performance data.
