An inspection method including following steps is provided. A pixel array substrate including a plurality of pixel units is in contact with a photoelectric inspection device. A plurality of electrical signals is inputted to the pixel units of the pixel array substrate and the photoelectric inspection device. Based on an optical property of the photoelectric inspection device, the pixel units of the pixel array substrate are being examined on whether they are normal or not. Moreover, an inspection apparatus realizing the inspection method is also provided.

Method of inspecting pixel array substrate and apparatus for inspecting pixel array substrate

An active matrix substrate includes a substrate and an insulating unit arranged on the substrate. The substrate includes a display region and a periphery circuit region beside the display region. The periphery circuit region has at least a chip connecting unit. Each chip connecting unit includes a number of connecting elements. Each of the connecting elements includes a conducting pad and a wire electrically connected to the conducting pad. The conducting pads of the connecting elements are arranged in at least two rows. The insulating unit has a number of contact holes corresponding to the conducting pads so that each of the conducting pads is entirely exposed by the corresponding contact hole. The active matrix substrate is applied to a display device to increase reliability of the display device and improve the quality of the display device.

Active matrix substrate

A display device structure includes a substrate having an active region and an electrostatic protection circuit region. The first metal layer, the first insulation layer, and an amorphous silicon layer are sequentially disposed on the substrate; the first opening passes through the first insulation layer for exposing part of the first metal layer. The second metal layer, disposed on the first insulation layer or the amorphous silicon layer, fills the first opening to contact with the first metal layer; the second insulation layer and the flat layer are disposed on the second metal layer, in which the region of the flat layer overlaps the electrostatic protection circuit region. The second opening passes through the second insulation layer and the flat layer for exposing the second metal layer, in which the third metal layer fills the second opening to contact with the second metal layer.

A border structure for viewable area of electronic paper display, including: a planarization layer; a border electrode, made of metal and disposed on the planarization layer; a glue layer, disposed on the border electrode and having on its bottom surface at least one downward extruding portion for enhancing its adhesive strength; and an electrophoretic display layer, disposed on the top surface of the glue layer.

Border structure for viewable area of electronic paper display

An array substrate includes scan lines and data lines defining pixel structures. Each pixel structure includes a first TFT, a second TFT and a pixel electrode. The first TFT includes a first gate connected to the scan line, a first source disposed above and partially overlapping the first gate, and a first drain disposed above the first gate. An end of the first source is connected to the data line. The first drain has at least one first concavity in which the first source is disposed partially. The second TFT includes a second gate connected to the scan line, a second source disposed above the second gate and connected to the first drain, and a second drain disposed above and partially overlapping the second gate. The second source has at least one second concavity in which the second drain is disposed partially. The pixel electrode connects to the second drain.

Array substrate and display apparatus using the same

A display panel includes a first substrate, a display layer, a second substrate and a water-proofing frame. The first substrate has a view area and a ring-shaped through trench and includes a first base, a first metal layer, a gate-insulating layer, a second metal layer, a semiconductor layer, a bibulous insulating layer and a pixel-electrode layer. The gate-insulating layer is disposed between the first and the second metal layers. The bibulous insulating layer is disposed on the second metal layer and the gate-insulating layer. The ring-shaped through trench passes through the bibulous insulating layer and the part of the gate-insulating layer exposed by the second metal layer and surrounds the view area. The water-proofing frame is disposed at the ring-shaped through trench, connects the first substrate and the second substrate and encloses a wet-proof space between the first substrate and the second substrate. Besides, another display panel is also provided.

Display panel

A color filter including a substrate, a plurality of pixel units and a transparent electrode layer is provided. The substrate has a plurality of pixel regions. Each pixel region has a plurality of first sub-pixel regions and a second sub-pixel region. Each pixel unit is disposed in one of the pixel regions corresponding thereto and includes a plurality of and a white filter film. Each color filter film is disposed in one of the first sub-pixel regions corresponding thereto and the white filter film is disposed in the second sub-pixel region. Since the area of the white filter film is larger than the area of each color filter film, the color filter has high light-transmittance. The transparent electrode layer is disposed on the pixel units. Furthermore, a color reflective display device with the color filter is disclosed.

Color filter and color reflective display device with the same

A thin film transistor array substrate suitable for being applied in an electronic ink display device is provided. The thin film transistor array substrate includes a substrate, scan lines, data lines, thin film transistors, pixel electrodes and testing signal lines. The data lines and the scan lines are disposed and define a plurality of pixel regions on the substrate. Each thin film transistor is disposed in the respective pixel region and driven by the corresponding scan line and data line. In addition, each pixel electrode is disposed in respective pixel region and electrically connected to the thin film transistor corresponding thereto. Furthermore, the testing signal line connects to the scan lines and/or the data lines in series. The testing accuracy as well as the production yield of the electronic ink display device and the thin film transistor array substrate can be improved by the design of the aforementioned testing circuit.

Thin film transistor array substrate and electronic ink display device

An active device array substrate has a display area and a peripheral circuit area and further includes a plurality of pixel units, a plurality of signal lines, a plurality of testing pads and a first dielectric layer. The pixel units are arranged in the display area in an array. The signal lines and the testing pads are arranged in the peripheral circuit area. The first dielectric layer covers the testing pads. A testing method of the active device array substrate is that firstly removing a part of the first dielectric layer to expose a testing pad(s) desired to electrically contact with a testing tool. In other words, before the testing, the testing pads are electrically insulated from the exterior to prevent the pixel units from the electrostatic charges damage and thus the circuit stability of the active device array substrate can be improved.

Active device array substrate

An active matrix device includes a substrate, scan lines, data lines, pixels, electrostatic discharge ring, a circuit board and a electrostatic protection circuit. The scan lines and data lines are disposed on the substrate, in which the data lines cross the scan lines. The pixels are electrically coupled to the data lines and the scan lines. The electrostatic discharge ring is disposed on the substrate. The electrostatic protection circuit is coupled between the electrostatic discharge ring and the circuit board, in which the electrostatic protection circuit prevents the electrostatic current on the circuit board from entering the substrate.

Active matrix device with electrostatic protection

A thin film transistor array substrate and an electronic ink display device are provided. The thin film transistor includes a substrate, scan lines, data lines, thin film transistors, and pixel electrodes. The substrate has plural pixel regions, and the scan lines and the data lines are disposed on the substrate. Additionally, each pixel region has at least two thin film transistors therein, each thin film transistor only corresponds to one scan line and one data line, and each scan line and each data line is corresponded to at least one thin film transistor respectively. Furthermore, each pixel region has a pixel electrode therein, and the pixel electrode covers and is electrically connected to the thin film transistors in the same pixel region. The thin film transistor array substrate and the electronic ink display device can provide superior repairing functions to pixel defects for improving productive yield.

A multi-channel thin film transistor structure including a first conducting layer, an insulating layer, a semiconductor layer and a second conducting layer is provided. The first conducting layer formed on a substrate includes a gate electrode. The insulating layer covers the first conducting layer. The semiconductor layer formed on the insulating layer includes a plurality of semiconductor islands located above the gate electrode. The second conducting layer formed on the insulating layer and on the semiconductor layer includes a source electrode and a drain electrode. Each one of the semiconductor islands is coupled electrically with the source electrode at one end and coupled electrically with the drain electrode at the other end.
