Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) and perform a filtering procedure on frequency-domain symbols of the DMRS to obtain a frequency-domain noise signal associated with the frequency-domain symbols. The UE may perform a spur detection procedure on the frequency-domain noise signal to detect one or more frequency spurs associated with the frequency-domain symbols. In addition, the UE may estimate a frequency of the frequency spurs. In some implementations, the UE may transmit information indicating spur parameters associated with the frequency spurs (e.g., including the estimated frequency) to a network entity. The UE may receive a control message indicating a rate matching pattern for subsequent communications, the rate matching pattern based on the spur parameters. The UE and the network entity may communicate according to the rate matching pattern.

Spur detection, estimation, and mitigation

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless node may receive a configuration indicating a parameter of a signal to be optimized for a portion of a frequency range. The wireless node may transform a feedback signal and a reference signal into a frequency domain. The wireless node may generate an error signal based at least in part on transforming the feedback signal and the reference signal. The wireless node may assign weights to the error signal to generate a weighted error signal. The weights may be assigned to the error signal in the portion of the frequency range and a remaining portion of the frequency range according to the configuration. The wireless node may transmit the signal based at least in part on utilizing the weighted error signal to apply digital pre-distortion to the signal. Numerous other aspects are described.

Weighted error optimization for digital pre-distortion

Aspects of the present disclosure provide signal amplification. An example method generally includes amplifying a version of a first input signal with a power amplifier in a first state where a bias voltage of the power amplifier is set to a first voltage based on a first tracking mode; obtaining a first output signal of the power amplifier in a second state where the bias voltage is set to a second voltage less than the first voltage; determining a predistortion associated with the power amplifier based at least in part on the obtained first output signal; applying the predistortion to the first input signal; and amplifying a version of the predistorted first input signal with the power amplifier in a third state where the bias voltage is set to a third voltage based on a second tracking mode, wherein the third voltage is less than the first voltage.

Signal amplification circuitry

An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) has been disclosed. In some implementations, the ADC is configured to generate ADC samples based on input signals and an ADC input clock. The ADC is further configured to generate at a first time point a synchronized start signal indicating a starting point of capturing the ADC samples. The start signal and a system clock can be synchronized at a second time point. At a third time point, a capturing sample clock for capturing the ADC samples is generated. The synchronized start signal and the capturing sample clock can be input to a counter to determine a time difference between the second and third time points. An ADC output timing of the ADC samples can be determined based on the time difference.

Obtaining accurate timing of analog to digital converter samples in cellular modem

According to embodiments, an example method for determining an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) output timing in a user equipment may include operating a switch in a first mode to route a system clock from an oscillator to an input of the ADC and determining a first ADC output timing based on a first set of ADC samples generated by the ADC. The method may also include operating the switch in a second mode to route analog signals from a transceiver of the user equipment to the input of the ADC and obtaining a second set of ADC samples generated by the ADC based on the analog signals.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for maintaining phase coherency in the event of changes to uplink transmit power. For example, the techniques described herein may help mitigate the impact on phase continuity of uplink transmissions by UEs capable of dual connectivity (DC).

Solutions to handle mis-alignment between radio access technologies (RATs) in dual connectivity (DC)

Methods and apparatus are provided for allowing a transmitter (Tx) to perform antenna selection independently of a receiver (Rx) in a transceiver supporting both transmit diversity and receive diversity. Certain aspects may utilize a cross switch, which may be used in a parallel or cross configuration, to provide for the independent antenna selection, such that the Rx may maintain the ability to operate on the same antenna as the Tx, on another antenna, or on both antennas for enhanced receive diversity. Furthermore, certain aspects may employ additional switching in the baseband domain in an effort to avoid, or at least reduce, switching glitches in the Rx caused by changing the cross switch configuration. In this manner, the Rx need not re-converge upon antenna switching.

Combined intelligent receive diversity (IRD) and mobile transmit diversity (MTD) with independent antenna switching for uplink and downlink

Circuitry for reducing power consumption is described. The circuitry includes a power amplifier. The circuitry also includes a predistorter coupled to the power amplifier. The circuitry further includes a power supply coupled to the power amplifier. The circuitry additionally includes a controller coupled to the power amplifier, to the predistorter and to the power supply. The controller captures a transmit signal and a feedback signal concurrently and determines a minimum bias voltage from a set of voltages and a predistortion that enable the power amplifier to produce an amplified transmit signal in accordance with a requirement.

Circuitry for reducing power consumption

Techniques for detecting and mitigating interference are described. A device (e.g., a cellular phone) senses interference levels and digitally reconstructs the expected interference in the received signal. The device may correlate the reconstructed interference with the received signal and determine interference in the received signal based on correlation results. The device may adjust the operation of one or more circuit blocks (e.g., a mixer, an LNA, etc.) in a receiver based on the detected interference in the received signal. Alternatively or additionally, the device may condition the digital interference to obtain conditioned reconstructed interference matching the interference in the received signal and may then subtract the conditioned interference from the received signal.

Interference detection and mitigation

Techniques for compensating for I-Q mismatch in a communications receiver. In an exemplary embodiment, incoming I and Q samples are adjusted by multiplying with certain compensation coefficients to generate mismatch-compensated I and Q samples. The compensation coefficients may themselves be calculated and iteratively refined from the mismatch-compensated I and Q samples. Further techniques for partitioning the adjustment and estimation functions among computational hardware are disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, estimation may be restricted to only those segments of the incoming I and Q samples that fulfill certain conditions, e.g., segments of the incoming I and Q samples known to be statistically uncorrelated and/or to have equal average energy.

I-Q mismatch compensation

Techniques for identifying and suppressing frequency spurs in a signal are disclosed. In an embodiment, an incoming signal is rotated by a frequency related to a spur frequency, and an estimate of the content of the rotated signal is derived. The estimate may be subtracted from the rotated incoming signal, and the result de-rotated by the spur frequency. In an embodiment, the incoming signal may be rotated such that the spur is centered at DC. In an alternative embodiment, the estimate may be de-rotated before being subtracted from the original incoming signal. Techniques for addressing multiple spurs using serial and parallel architectures are disclosed. Further disclosed are techniques for searching for the presence of spurs in an incoming signal, and tracking spur frequencies over time.

Frequency spur detection and suppression

Some embodiments provide a method, system, and apparatus for interference cancellation at the baseband of a receiver. A wireless communication device, having a transmitter and receiver, is provided with an adaptive circuit that cancels interference caused by transmit signals (or other signals) leaked or bled onto the receiver at baseband to facilitate detection of a received signal of interest. Some implementations provide for a circuit that approximately reconstructs the second and third order components caused by the nonlinear response of the down-conversion chain of a receiver. This reconstructed signal is then subtracted from the composite received signal to obtain a received signal of interest.

Baseband transmitter self-jamming and intermodulation cancellation device

An electronic device is provided for generating or utilizing one or more cycle-swallowed clock signals derived based on one or more first clock signals. The device includes a module configured to receive a first clock signal having a first frequency. The module is configured to generate a second clock signal having a second frequency and configured to swallow one or more clock cycles of the first clock signal in generating the second clock signal. The first clock signal has even cycles, and the second clock signal has uneven cycles. The first frequency is greater than the second frequency. The module may include a cycle-swallowing counter.
