A multi-access remote system having a security surveillance area, a plurality of end user locations, and a communications network such that one or more of the end user locations can establish a connection with the security surveillance area, and vice versa, using a communications protocol via the communications network. The security surveillance area is comprised of a local computer system, a camera with motion sensor, and a network interface. When the motion sensor detects an obstruction the camera starts recording and the local computer system notifies a remote individual of the alarm via a communications device, such as a beeper, telephone, or e-mail. Using an end user location, having a remote computer system, a network interface, and one or more communications devices, the remote individual can logon to the local computer system via the communications network and obtain additional information, control the video camera remotely, or view video images. Access to the security surveillance area, control of the video camera, and viewing of the video data is accomplished advantageously over the Internet with application specific browser software, plugins, APIs, and other protocols.

Intelligent multi-access system

A set of multidimensional capabilities allows service-related data to be exchanged among and operate with different hardware platforms and software programs. A trigger based on the call request is received at a switching platform. The trigger activates a service-specific object driver. The object driver is built by interacting with service objects. Once the object driver is built, the service objects are executed with call processing information based on the newly built object driver. During the entire process, network management functions are executed in a fault-tolerant fashion to ensure reliability.

Method and system for implementing intelligent telecommunication

In the case of an outbound international call originating from the U.S., an international communication system at a first switch receives, over a segment of the communication channel, the calling party's automatic number identification (ANI) and the dialed number (DN). The switch then sends a query to a processor having a previously stored customer processing records (CPRs). The database at the processor correlates the call information with the appropriate CPR; a service identity value is then inserted into a field which is unused for domestic calls. Call information including the service identity value is then transmitted to a second switch. When the service identity value indicates a service has been triggered, the transmitted call information is correlated with the appropriate index in a trigger table. The service-related values associated with the matched pseudo-country code are then inserted into the service-specific parameters. Finally, the service-specific values are delivered to the called party in the destination country using the service-specific parameters. A similar process is performed for an inbound international call originating from a foreign country and an international transit call.

Method and apparatus for providing multi-network virtual services

A fraud detection apparatus receives a telephone call including area and national numbers from a switch and determines when the telephone call is fraudulent. The fraud detection apparatus includes a switching processor capable of receiving the area code and national numbers from a local telephone switch. The switching processor may also have the capability of storing potential fraudulent call information, such as area codes, billing numbers and domestic or international directory numbers. The processor determines the telephone call to be fraudulent when any or a combination of the above numbers matches one of the potential fraudulent numbers stored in its memory.

Security system for terminating fraudulent telephone calls

Easily accessed and widely available language interpretation services are provided in a public switched telephone network by a common platform adjunct which automatically connects an interpretation services subscriber with a selected language interpreter associated with a language interpretation platform in the network. A subscriber dials, for example, an international telephone number which includes a code indicating that the call is an international call, a country code, a city code, and a local destination number. The ANI of the subscriber is detected and the call is routed to the adjunct which further verifies and validates the subscriber. The adjunct places a call through the public switched telephone network to the language interpretation platform. The call is answered either by an automatically preselected interpreter or by a human operator who causes the call to be manually transferred to a desired interpreter. The international call is completed to the destination and the calling subscriber, the interpreter, and the called party are bridged together.
