The present disclosure includes a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) door diagnostic system. The system has a rotatable hard stop lever that contacts, and restricts movement of, both a first airflow control door and a second airflow control door beyond a stop position when both the first airflow control door and the second airflow control door are present and moving in sync. When one of the first and second airflow control doors is not present or the first and second airflow control doors are not in sync, only one of the first and second airflow control doors will: contact the hard stop lever at the stop position, rotate the hard stop lever, and move beyond the stop position. The HVAC door diagnostic system generates a failure notice when the first airflow control door or the second airflow control door moves beyond the stop position.

An HVAC system including a defrost manifold. The defrost manifold has a first side window outlet, a second side window outlet, and a windshield outlet. A first rib partially obstructs the first side window outlet. A second rib partially obstructs the second side window outlet. A control door is movable to open and close the defrost manifold. A first wall extends from a first portion of the control door that is opposite to the first side window outlet. A second wall extends from a second portion of the control door that is opposite to the second side window outlet. Movement of the control door varies the position of the first wall relative to the first rib, and varies the position of the second wall relative to the second rib, to control airflow through the first and second side window outlets.

Demist control for HVAC

Disclosed is a vehicle HVAC system that provides for installation, serviceability, or replacement of at least one actuator servo without removal of the HVAC assembly from the vehicle. As due to the tight space limitations, the present invention provides for at least one fastener-less mounting element of the servo assembly to be attached to the HVAC assembly, without the need for additional fasteners which would require additional space to access with a tool.

Servo locking snap feature

A fan shroud assembly includes a fixed fan shroud and a removable fan shroud. An upper retention system integral with the fixed and removable fan shrouds secures the two circumferential ends of the removable fan shroud to the fixed fan shroud. A lower retention system integral with the fixed and removable fan shroud secures the center of the removable fan shroud to the fixed fan shroud. No additional fasteners are required to connect the removable fan shroud to the fixed fan shroud because of the integral nature of the upper and lower retention systems.

A mounting arrangement for a heat exchanger in a vehicle includes a bracket having a main body. A first portion is secured to the heat exchanger and a second portion includes a mounting feature adapted to be secured to another component of the vehicle. A foot is formed on the first portion of the bracket. The foot defines an interface surface brazed to the heat exchanger in an installed position.

Condenser attachment bracket

A fastening system fastens a radiator, an electric fan support and a fan shroud as a single unit. The radiator has lower and upper posts to which slotted plates protruding from the fan support and fan shroud fit over. A structural sandwich is formed with the fan support lying between the radiator and the fan shroud. A flexible lever arm with a locking tab lies adjacent to the upper post of the radiator and connects to the radiator. When the fan support is fitted over the posts, the top plate of the electric fan support locks under the first lever arm tab. The fan shroud also has two slotted plates that also fit over the posts of the radiator. The fan shroud locks into place when a lever arm with a tab on the fan shroud locks under a tab that protrudes from the top plate of the fan support.

Fastenerless attachment system applied to vehicle engine cooling module components

A combination cooler includes a first circuit having a first series of tubes defining a first hydraulic diameter. The first fluid circuit is adapted to communicate a first fluid from a first inlet to a first outlet. A second fluid circuit includes a second series of tubes defining a second hydraulic diameter and a third series of tubes defining a third hydraulic diameter. The second fluid circuit is adapted to communicate a second fluid from a second inlet to a second outlet. The first and second hydraulic diameters are equivalent. The third hydraulic diameter is distinct from the first and second hydraulic diameter.

Variable oil cooler tube size for combo cooler

A jumper tube assembly for a heat exchanger includes a first connector block having an attachment portion engaged to the heat exchanger, an outlet and an inlet for receiving refrigerant from the heat exchanger. A second connector block includes an attachment portion engaged to the heat exchanger, an inlet and an outlet. A jumper tube extends between the first and the second connector block. The jumper tube includes an inlet connected to the outlet of the first connector block and an outlet connected to the inlet of the second connector block. The jumper tube inlet and the jumper tube outlet are brazed to the respective first and second connector blocks. The first and second connector blocks are brazed to the heat exchanger.
