The present invention relates to an injection-molded article, comprising at least one metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene resin comprising at least two metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene fractions A and B, wherein the at least one metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene resin comprises: at least 40% to at most 50% by weight of polyethylene fraction A based on the total weight of the at least one metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene resin, wherein fraction A has a melt index MI2 of at least 100.0 g/10 min as determined according to ISO 1133, condition D, at 190&#xb0; C. and under a load of 2.16 kg; andwherein the at least one metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene resin has a density of at least 0.940 g/cmto at most 0.950 g/cmas measured on pellets according to ISO 1183 at 23&#xb0; C.; a melt index MI2 of at least 1.4 g/10 min to at most 2.5 g/10 min as measured on pellets according to ISO 1133, condition D, at 190&#xb0; C. and under a load of 2.16 kg. The present invention also relates to a process for preparing said injection-molded article, comprising the steps of a) providing at least one metallocene-catalyzed polyethylene resin as described herein; and b) injection-molding said polyethylene resin into an article.

The present invention relates to a process for preparing a polyethylene product having a multimodal molecular weight distribution, said process comprising the steps of: (a) feeding ethylene monomer, a diluent, at least one metallocene catalyst, optionally hydrogen, and optionally one or more olefin co-monomers into a first slurry loop reactor; and polymerizing the ethylene monomer, and the optionally one or more olefin co-monomers, in the presence of said at least one metallocene catalyst, and optionally hydrogen, in said first slurry loop reactor thereby producing a first polyethylene fraction; (b) feeding the first polyethylene fraction to a second slurry loop reactor serially connected to the first slurry loop reactor, and in the second slurry loop reactor polymerizing ethylene, and optionally one or more olefin co-monomers, in the presence of the first polyethylene fraction, and optionally hydrogen, thereby producing a second polyethylene fraction; and (c) feeding the second polyethylene fraction to a gas phase reactor serially connected to the second slurry loop reactor, and in the gas phase reactor polymerizing ethylene, and optionally one or more olefin co-monomers, in the presence of the second polyethylene fraction, and optionally hydrogen, thereby producing the polyethylene product, wherein at least 25% by weight of the polyethylene product is prepared in the first slurry loop reactor.

An uncompounded particulate metallocene-produced polyethylene can have a multimodal molecular weight distribution and particle size distribution measured by obtaining at least four fractions by sieving. A set of Mw values including an Mw value for each fraction can be obtained. A set of Mn values including an Mn value for each fraction can be obtained. A ratio between a standard deviation value of the Mw set and a mean value of the Mw set can be equal to or less than 0.15. A ratio between a standard deviation value of the Mn set and a mean value of the Mn set can be equal to or less than 0.15. The uncompounded particulate metallocene-produced polyethylene can be prepared by a process that includes polymerization in an apparatus. The apparatus can include at least three serially connected loop reactors.

Polyethylene obtained by the disclosed process and articles comprising the polyethylene are also described.

A supported catalyst system may include a titanated silica-containing catalyst support having at least 0.1 wt % of Ti and a specific surface area of from 150 m/g to 800 m/g. The Ti may be of a titanium compound of the general formula selected from RTi(OR'), and (RO)Ti(OR&#x2032;), wherein R and R&#x2032; are the same or different and are selected from hydrocarbyl groups containing from 1 to 12 carbons or halogens, wherein n is 0 to 4, wherein m is 0 to 4, and wherein m+n equals 4. The supported catalyst system may include a catalyst activating agent and a metallocene. The supported catalyst system may be obtained by a process including titanating a silica-containing catalyst support with at least one vaporized titanium compound, and treating the titanated silica-containing catalyst support with a catalyst activating agent and a metallocene.

A supported catalyst system includes a coprecipitated silica- and titania-containing support, alumoxane, and a metallocene. The supported catalyst system has a Ti content of at least 0.1 wt %.

A process for preparing a polyethylene resin having a multimodal molecular weight distribution in at least two loop slurry reactors connected in series can include polymerizing ethylene in the presence of at least one supported metallocene catalyst, a diluent, optionally one or more co-monomers, and optionally hydrogen, thereby obtaining the polyethylene resin.
