Chair

An arm assembly for a chair having a post, a first member, and an armrest. The first member is angularly adjustable relative to the post about a first axis between first angular movement limits, with a non-finite number of angular adjustment positions of the first member relative to the post. The armrest is operatively connected to the first member to translationally slide generally forward and rearward relative to the first member between first translational movement limits, with a non-finite number of translational adjustment positions of the armrest relative to the first member. The armrest is angularly adjustable relative to the first member about a second substantially upright axis between second angular movement limits, with a non-finite number of angular adjustment positions of the armrest relative to the first member.

Arm assembly for a chair

A chair with a transom, a seat support, a back portion, and a combined rock and recline mechanism. The combined rock and recline mechanism has front and rear rocking arrangements configured to enable the seat support and back portion to together rock generally forward and rearward from a neutral position relative to the transom, and a recline arrangement that is configured such that the seat support is in a first at-rest position relative to the back portion when the back portion is in an upright position, and such that reclining the back portion rearwardly from the upright position toward a reclined position moves the seat support upward and rearward from the first at-rest position.

An adjustable support assembly for use in a chair has a mounting member, a supportfor supporting part of the body of a chair occupant, and a carrierslidably carrying the support. The support has a plurality of engagement featuresand the carrier has an engagement memberthat is selectively engageable with the engagement features to enable the support to be selectively positioned relative to the carrier at a plurality of positions. A biasing arrangementoperatively connects the carrierto the mounting memberand forwardly biases the carrierand support. The engagement between the engagement memberand an engaged engagement featureincreases upon application of rearward force to the support.

A lumbar support for a chair includes a member having a first portion separated from a second portion via a slit formed in the member and a slider mechanism. The slider mechanism has a slider that is moveable from a first position to a second position. The first and second portions of the member are attached to each other when the slider is at the second position via the slider. The first and second portions of the member are unattached at the second position when the slider is moved from the second position to the first position.
