Systems and methods for license plate matching. In one example, a system for license plate matching includes an interface configured to receive roadside data, the roadside data including a roadside image of a vehicle license plate, a database having a plurality of indexed entries, each entry including vehicle license plate fingerprint data and vehicle characteristic metadata, and a processor connected to a memory, the interface, and the database, the processor configured to execute a query against the database based on the roadside data, compare a portion of the entries to the roadside data, the processor being further configured to compare the roadside image of the vehicle license plate and the corresponding vehicle license plate fingerprint data when comparing the portion of the entries and roadside data, and generate a confidence based on a similarity between at least one individual entry of the portion of entries and the roadside data.

License plate matching systems and methods

According to at least one aspect, systems and methods for distributed license plate review, at one or more crowd source analysis provider, are provided. In one example, a system for license plate review includes an interface configured to receive at least a roadside image of a vehicle license plate, and at least one processor configured to partition the roadside image of the vehicle license plate into one or more segments, and assign the one or more segments to one or more crowd source analysis provider, the one or more crowd source analysis provider being configured to review and recognize at least one character of the vehicle license plate included within an individual segment of the roadside image. In an example, the crowd source analysis provider may allow a reviewer to interact with the individual segment and recognize the at least one character within that segment.

License plate distributed review systems and methods

A system and method for transferring data between an object detection system and a collision processing circuit is provided. The object detection system includes sensors configured to provide coverage of and detect movement within a predetermined area. The object detection system further includes a path predicting circuit and a plotting circuit operable to predict and plot the location of detected objects. The system further includes a map definition of the predetermined area, a grid system plotted onto the predetermined area, and environmental information relating to the predetermined area, and a series of overlays. Each overlay is plotted with the grid system and the predicted location of the detected objects. The object detection system transmits the map definition and series of overlays to the collision processing circuit so as to determine a probability of a collision.

A system for detecting a pedestrian is provided. The system includes a base and a mast extending from the base, and a plurality of sensors mounted on the mast, the plurality of sensors for detecting objects and pedestrians within a predetermined range, and wherein the sensors include a GPS antenna, at least one camera, an alert mechanism, a radio with an integrated directional antenna, and a short range communication antenna. A path predicting circuit is in communication with a system vehicle and the pedestrian detection system. The path predicting circuit processes information from the system vehicle and pedestrian detection system to predict the path of the system vehicle and detected objects. The path predicting circuit is in communication with a path collision circuit and the predicted paths are mapped on the path collision circuit so as to determine if the system vehicle may possibly collide with a detected object.

Communication based vehicle-pedestrian collision warning system

In one aspect, a vehicle monitoring apparatus includes an interface configured to connect to a diagnostic port of a vehicle, a processor coupled to the interface and configured to communicate with the diagnostic port and a sensor coupled to the processor and configured to detect a factor indicating the presence of a driver in the vehicle. The sensor causes the apparatus to transition from a first power mode to a second power mode upon detection of the factor. The apparatus draws more power from the vehicle in the second power mode than in the first power mode. The apparatus also includes a housing that includes the processor and the sensor.
