A network function virtualization service includes an action implementation layer and an action decisions layer. On a flow of network traffic received at the service, the action implementation layer performs a packet processing action determined at the action decisions layer.

Scalable network function virtualization service

A node of a network address translator obtains a first packet. A particular port number to be used as a substitute port for a packet flow associated with the first packet is determined using at least a first intermediate hash result, a particular flow hash value range assigned to the node, and a lookup table. The first intermediate hash result is obtained from a flow tuple of the first packet, and the lookup table comprises an entry indicating a mapping between the particular port number and a second intermediate hash result. A second packet, in which the source port is the set to the substitute port number, is transmitted to a recipient indicated in the first packet.

Apparatus, article of manufacture and methods for customized design of a jewelry item

A customer may request a service endpoint for a service in their virtual network on a provider network. In response, a service endpoint is generated in the customer's virtual network, a local IP address in the IP address range of the customer's virtual network is assigned to the service endpoint, and a DNS name is assigned to the service endpoint. Resources on the customer's virtual network resolve the DNS name of the service endpoint to obtain the local IP address of the service endpoint and send service requests for the service to the local IP address of the service endpoint. The service endpoint adds routing information to the service requests and sends the service requests over the network substrate to be routed to the service.

Virtual private network service endpoints

Computing resource service providers allow customers to execute computer systems on hardware provided by the computing resource service provider. The hardware may be distributed between various geographic locations connected by a network. A load balancer may be provided to distribute traffic between the computer systems. Furthermore, computing resource service provider may cause computing resources to be allocated or deallocated to the load balancer based at least in part on various attributes of the computer systems the load balancer is responsible for distributing traffic to. The various attributes may include a capacity of the computer systems.

Predictive load balancer resource management

A load balancer obtains respective workload metrics of various worker nodes of a distributed system. In response to determining that a work request is to be assigned, the load balancer generates a workload variation estimate associated with the worker nodes. Using the workload variation estimate, the load balancer determines a size of a candidate pool of worker nodes for the work request. The load balancer assigns the work request to a selected worker node from the candidate pool.

Distributed load balancing with imperfect workload information

Systems and methods provide logic for decentralized request routing. In one implementation, a computer-implemented method routes a request. The method includes receiving, by a client server, the request. The client server evaluates feedback information received by the client server from at least one of a plurality of host servers. The client server selects one of the plurality of host servers to process the request, based on the evaluation, and transmits the request to the selected one of the plurality of host servers.

Decentralized request routing

Systems and methods provide automated provisioning of load balancing. In one implementation, a computer-implemented method configures an access point. A request to create the access point may be received and data for the access point may be stored in a data store. The method may invoke a workflow engine. The workflow engine may assign the access point to a load balancer, configure the load balancer, assign a network address to the load balancer, and publish the network address for a plurality of clients.
