A method of eliminating interconnect strains in a stack-up is provided. The method includes providing a detector portion including a detector substrate and detector layers, providing a read-out integrated circuit (ROIC) stack-up including ROIC layers and an initial ROIC substrate, removing the initial ROIC substrate from the ROIC layers, attaching a new ROIC substrate to a first surface of the ROIC layers, the new ROIC substrate having a coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) that matches a CTE of the detector substrate and hybridizing the detector layers to a second surface of the ROIC layers by way of interconnects.

Eliminating interconnect strains in microcircuits

A high speed radio frequency signal interconnect device provides for signal communication within a system at cryogenic temperatures. The device includes a plurality of conductive traces provided on a first dielectric substrate where the ends of the traces have a predetermined shape. A second dielectric substrate covers the first dielectric substrate leaving the ends of the traces exposed. A connector is coupled to each respective end and includes pins coupled to a respective trace. Each connector is configured to define a respective isolating chamber about each of the first ends of the conductive traces where the pins are attached.

Wide-band high speed communications channel for cryogenic applications

A system and method for securing objects to vehicles, wherein the system may include a first and a second standoff apparatus that may be configured to support an object. Each of the first standoff apparatus and second standoff apparatus may include a recoilable device and a connector for coupling the recoilable device to the object. The first standoff may also include an anchor coupled to the vehicle, a support arm coupled to the anchor, and a cable coupled to the support arm, wherein at least the cable supports the weight of the object. The recoilable device may be configured to flex in response to an impact on the object and return the object to a first original position in the absence of the impact.

Systems and methods for securing objects to vehicles

In certain embodiments, a method includes accessing data associated with one or more vehicle parameters and determining, based on the data associated with the one or more vehicle parameters, if a vehicle rollover is imminent. The method includes determining, in response to a determination that a vehicle rollover is imminent, a roll countering solution. The method includes determining, based on the roll countering solution, one or more vehicle thrusters to execute the determined roll countering solution. The method includes signaling the one or more vehicle thrusters to discharge to execute the determined roll countering solution.

According to one embodiment, a system for gathering intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance information comprises a synthetic aperture radar that is housed within an enclosure coupled to a land vehicle. The synthetic aperture radar includes an antenna array that transmits and receives electro-magnetic radiation for generating images of objects around the land vehicle while the land vehicle is in motion.

According to one embodiment of the disclosure, a cooling system for a heat-generating structure comprises a heat exchanger, a first structure, a condenser heat exchanger, and a second condenser. The heat exchanger is in thermal communication with a heat-generating structure. The heat exchanger has an inlet and an outlet. The inlet is operable to receive fluid coolant substantially in the form of a liquid into the heat exchanger, and the outlet is operable to dispense fluid coolant at least partially in the form of a vapor out of the heat exchanger. The first structure directs a flow of the fluid coolant substantially in the form of a liquid to the heat exchanger. Thermal energy communicated from the heat-generating structure to the fluid coolant causes the fluid coolant substantially in the form of a liquid to boil and vaporize in the heat exchanger. The condenser heat exchanger receives a flow of the fluid coolant at least partially in the form of a vapor from the heat exchanger and transfers at least a portion of the thermal energy within the fluid coolant to a heat sink. The second condenser assists the condenser heat exchanger in transferring at least a portion of the thermal energy within the fluid coolant away from the fluid coolant. The second condenser is selectively activated when the heat sink reaches an undesirable temperature.

According to one embodiment, an antenna array includes a plurality of racks that are each configured with a plurality of antenna elements. Each rack may be rotated relative to the other racks through an axis that is generally parallel to the axis of other racks. Each antenna element within each rack has an axial orientation that is generally similar to and has an elevational orientation that is individually adjustable relative to one another.
