An application-policy-based SDN controller system includes a first device running a first application, and a second device. Each of the first device and the second device are coupled to a SDN network via one of a plurality of networking devices in the SDN network. A first virtual application-policy-based SDN controller determines a first application communication flow path through the SDN network for first application communications that are between the first device and the second device and that involve the first application. The first virtual application-policy-based SDN controller then provides at least one application-policy-based flow rule to a first subset of the plurality of networking devices that are included in the first application communication flow path. The at least one application-policy-based flow rule causes the first subset of the plurality of networking devices to transmit the first application communications such that the first application communications satisfy at least one network property.

Application-policy-based virtual SDN controller system

A centralized network management system includes a wireless controller system and a plurality of access points that are coupled together through a network. Each of the plurality of access points is configured to receive wireless traffic from user devices and determine whether flow session rules are available for the wireless traffic. If so, wireless traffic received by an access point that is part of a flow session is modified by that access point according to at least one flow session rule that was received from the wireless controller system and that is associated with the flow session to which that wireless traffic belongs. That modified wireless traffic is translated to modified wired traffic by the access point, and the access point then perform an action on the modified wired traffic according to the at least one flow session rule associated with the flow session.

Centralized wireless network management system

VDI sessions and virtualized devices can be prioritized in Software-Defined Networks. A server-side agent can communicate with a management server to provide VDI session details indicative of how the VDI session is being employed. The management server can then update a flow table in a Software-Defined Network based on the VDI session details. In this way, the network traffic pertaining to a VDI session can be prioritized based on how the VDI session is being used. A flow table can also be updated in conjunction with commencing or completing an imaging process.

Prioritizing VDI sessions and redirected devices in software defined networks

When a USB device that supports multiple streams is redirected, a multi-channel environment can be established in which each USB stream is associated with a separate network connection. As a result, each USB stream will be transferred over the network in its own connection and therefore the data transfer can be carried out in an out-of-order fashion and with speeds that better approximate those provided by the USB SuperSpeed feature. To handle the routing of URBs to the appropriate network connection, the virtual desktop infrastructure can implement a lookup table to associate a stream's handle with a particular network connection.

Supporting multiple streams for a redirected USB device

A wireless mesh network repair system includes a first wireless communication device that is configured to provide a first wireless communication path that provides for the transmission of wireless communications between first and second devices and to provide a notification of a change in the first wireless communication path that will prevent the transmission of the wireless communications between the first and second devices on the first wireless communication path. The system further includes at least one second wireless communication device that is configured to receive the notification from the first wireless communication device, and in response, determine a second wireless communication path that will provide for the transmission of wireless communications between the first and second devices, adjust a second wireless communication device communication range, and provide for the transmission of wireless communication signals between the first and second devices on the second wireless communication path.

Wireless mesh network repair system

A microburst monitoring system includes a port and a memory system with an egress queue and a shadow queue that are associated with the port. A networking engine is coupled to the port and the memory system and configured to receive and process packets to provide egress frames for forwarding through the port. The networking engine then stores the egress frames in the egress queue, and stores information about each of the egress frames in the shadow queue. When the networking device determines that the storage of the egress frames has caused the egress queue to reach a threshold, the networking device causes the information about each of the egress frames in the egress queue to be captured, and that captured information may be analyzed to determine a source device that is generating at least some of the packets to be throttled.

Microburst monitoring system

A peer-to-peer wireless controller topology provisioning system includes plurality of networking devices. A plurality of peer-to-peer wireless controllers are included in each networking device and are each configured to control a portion of a single wireless link with another peer-to-peer wireless controller. A management subsystem determines relative locations for each of the networking devices, and a number of peer-to-peer wireless controllers available in each of the networking devices. The management subsystem then uses a maximum hop constraint and a minimum bandwidth constraint to generate a peer-to-peer wireless controller topology for at least some of the peer-to-peer wireless controllers that are available in the networking devices. The management subsystem then provides the peer-to-peer wireless controller topology to each of the networking devices to cause each of the networking devices to configure their available peer-to-peer wireless controllers to provide wireless links according to the peer-to-peer wireless controller topology.

An Ethernet/Fiber Channel conversion system includes a chassis having a first end and a second end that is located opposite the chassis from the first end. An Ethernet interface is located on the first end and is configured to directly mate with an Ethernet port on an Ethernet device. A Fiber Channel interface is located on the second end. An Ethernet/Fiber Channel conversion engine is housed in the chassis and configured to receive Ethernet protocol signals through the Ethernet interface, convert the Ethernet protocol signals to Fiber Channel protocol signals, and send the Fiber Channel protocol signals through the Fiber Channel interface. The Ethernet/Fiber Channel conversion engine is also configured to receive Fiber channel protocol signals from the Fiber Channel IHS through the Fiber Channel interface, convert the Fiber channel protocol signals to Ethernet protocol signals, and send the Ethernet protocol signals through the Ethernet interface.

Protocol conversion system

A converged infrastructure management system includes a first converged infrastructure system chassis housing a backplane. A plurality of managed devices are connected to the backplane and include at least one compute device, at least one network device, and at least one storage device. A management device is connected to the backplane and includes a display and an input device that are accessible on an outer surface of the management device. The management device includes a management engine that is configured to retrieve management information from any of the plurality of managed devices through the backplane and display the management information that was retrieved on the display. The management engine is also configured to receive instructions through the input device and, in response, modify the management information that is displayed and send the management information that has been modified through the backplane to the management device associated with that management information.

Converged infrastructure local management system

An access point IHS group controller failover system includes a first access point IHS group controller that controls a first access point IHS group that includes plurality of access point IHSs. Following a failure of the first access point IHS group controller, the first access point IHS broadcasts a first access point IHS identifier to a first subset of the plurality of access point IHSs. The first access point IHS then registers the first subset of the plurality of access point IHSs as members of a second access point IHS group, and controls at least some functions of the second access point IHS group. When the first access point IHS detects activity from the first access point IHS group controller, it instructs the first subset of the plurality of access point IHSs in the second access point IHS group to reconnect to the first access point IHS group controller.

Access point controller failover system

A device/PHY mapping maintaining system includes a rack that houses a networking device and that is configured to house a server device in different locations. The networking device provides a device/PHY mapping between the server device and a first PHY when the server device communicates with a first antenna system that is connected to the first PHY through a first radio processing engine. The networking device determines that the server device is communicating with a second antenna system that is connected to a second PHY through a second radio processing engine and, in response, connects the second antenna system to the first PHY to maintain the device/PHY mapping between the server device and the first PHY by connecting at least one of the second antenna system and the first PHY to a different radio processing engine.

A beam forming communication system includes a beam forming wireless communication device that is configured to provide wireless communication signals on a plurality of beamed formed wireless communication paths. A plurality of computing devices are positioned in a rack and are each configured to receive wireless communication signals from the beam forming wireless communication device. Each of the plurality of computing devices may determine whether wireless communication signals satisfy minimum wireless signal characteristics and, if so, provide a beam form receiving indication. The plurality of computing devices are positioned such that only a first subset of the plurality of computing devices provide the beam form receiving indication in response to the beam forming wireless communication device providing the wireless communications signals on a first beam formed wireless communication path.

An access point information handling system (IHS) group management system includes a group management IHS that is coupled to a plurality of access point IHSs through a network. The group management IHS receives a group request from a first access point IHS, then retrieves group configuration information from the group configuration database using information about the first access point IHS, and uses the group configuration information to determine an access point IHS group. The access point IHS group includes the first access point IHS and at least one second access point IHS. The group management IHS then determines an access point IHS group controller that is one of the first access point IHS and the at least one second access point IHS. The group management IHS then identifies the access point IHS group and the access point IHS group controller to the first access point IHS.

Virtual controller group management system

An Ethernet/Fibre Channel conversion system includes a chassis having a first end and a second end that is located opposite the chassis from the first end. An Ethernet interface is located on the first end and is configured to directly mate with an Ethernet port on an Ethernet device. A Fibre Channel interface is located on the second end. An Ethernet/Fibre Channel conversion engine is housed in the chassis and configured to receive Ethernet protocol signals through the Ethernet interface, convert the Ethernet protocol signals to Fibre Channel protocol signals, and send the Fibre Channel protocol signals through the Fibre Channel interface. The Ethernet/Fibre Channel conversion engine is also configured to receive Fibre channel protocol signals from the Fibre Channel IHS through the Fibre Channel interface, convert the Fibre channel protocol signals to Ethernet protocol signals, and send the Ethernet protocol signals through the Ethernet interface.

A multi-chassis coordinated display system a first chassis having a first display device located on the first chassis and a master screen agent. The master screen agent is configured to receive device information from a screen sub-agent that is located in a second chassis that includes a second display device. The master screen agent uses the device information to determine a first user interface screen for a user interface and a second user interface screen for the user interface, and sends the second user interface screen to the screen sub-agent. The master screen agent may then display the first user interface screen on the first display device while the screen sub-agent displays the second user interface screen on the second display device to provide a coordinated display of the user interface on the first display device and the second display device.
