System and method for displaying a graphical symbol as an SSID representative of a Wi-Fi network on a Wi-Fi client user device is disclosed, which includes storing a graphical symbol as an SSID for a Wi-Fi network at a network address based on a URL (the network address can be either internal or external to the Wi-Fi network); broadcasting an internal SSID and the URL in a broadcast message from a wireless access point device coupled to the Wi-Fi network to be accessed, the broadcasting performed by the wireless access point device operating independently of a Wi-Fi client user device; receiving the broadcast message at the Wi-Fi client user device; retrieving, by the Wi-Fi client user device, the graphical symbol stored at the network address using the internal SSID and the URL; and displaying, on the Wi-Fi client user device, the graphical symbol as the SSID for the Wi-Fi network.

Technologies are disclosed for servicing a video conference by a media control device. The media control device may receive a first signal including a first audio component from a first device and a second signal including a second audio component from a second device. The media device may identify at least a first timestamp of the first signal and at least a first timestamp of the second signal. The media device may assign a common timestamp to the first signal and the second signal and modify the first signal and/or the second signal based, at least in part, on the common timestamp. The media device may send the modified first signal and/or the modified second signal to at least one recipient device.

Disclosed are a network and method for transferring media content experience from a first smart media device to a second smart media device via an electronic program guide. Each of the smart media devices are pre-configured to have a unique name which is viewable from the electronic program guide, and to establish two way communications between the uniquely named first and second smart media devices. The electronic program guide is run on at least one of the smart media devices, and the electronic program guide is viewed on a display associated with at least one of the smart media devices. A user is provided a plurality of options to interact with the electronic program guide, including the option to transfer and view the media content experience selected on the first media device to the second smart media device. Technologies are disclosed for servicing a video conference by a media control device. The media control device may receive a first signal from a camera device. The first signal may include at least a video component and a first audio component. The media control device may receive a second signal from a microphone device. The second signal may include at least a second audio component. The first audio component and the second audio component may represent the audio communication of the video conference. The media control device may identify a first timestamp of the first signal and a first timestamp of the second signal. The first signal may be modified based, at least in part, on the second signal and an adjusted first timestamp of the first signal. The modified first signal may be sent to a recipient device serving the video conference.

Transmitting from a wireless router a live stream of time stamped multimedia packets from a server which is capable of providing a system time clock value is disclosed. The wireless router includes a queue for storing the time stamped multimedia packets received from the live streaming server. The wireless router also includes a processor for analyzing the priority of the time stamped multimedia packets stored in the queue, for comparing the time stamps to the system time clock value, for calculating a transmission time to a video client, and for determining a transmission window to transmit the time stamped multimedia packets. The time stamped multimedia packets are discarded if the packets cannot be transmitted within the transmission window, or the time stamped packets are immediately transmitted if they can be transmitted within the transmission window. The priority of the packets in queue may be re-sorted prior to transmission.

Methods, systems, and computer readable media may be operable to facilitate the dynamic selection of a storage device for storing media. When a recording request is received, storage information associated with resources of one or more networks and one or more storage devices may be retrieved, and a network may be selected for recording and storing the requested media based upon an algorithm that considers the retrieved information. One or more specific storage devices located on the selected network may be selected for recording and storing the requested media. The selection of the one or more specific storage devices may be made based upon an algorithm that considers the available resources and capabilities of available storage devices.

The disclosed examples encompass a media sending device, a media receiving device or a method of sending and reproducing media. For example, a media sending device may store media content and a meta-data file which includes media customization information to facilitate reproduction of the media content and an identifier that identifies a type of the information in the meta-data file. The media sending device then transmits an indication to the receiving device indicating that reproduction of the media content would be facilitated by use of the information in the meta-data file. The media sending device then transfers the media content and the meta-data file to the receiving device, in response to receiving a request for the media content from the receiving device. Then, the media receiving device reproduces the media content based at least in part on information extracted from the meta-data file, in a manner indicated by the identifier.

A diagnostics controller may detect an error condition at a network element within a subscriber premise. When an error condition is detected, the diagnostics controller may retrieve identification information, an error code, and/or query parameters associated with the network element. The diagnostics controller may generate a query for repair analysis that includes the identification information, error code, and/or query parameters, and the diagnostics controller may output the query to an upstream server. In response, the diagnostics controller may receive a repair analysis that includes information associated with remedying the error condition. The diagnostics controller may generate and output for presentation a user interface that includes the information associated with remedying the error condition.
