A pulse width modulation (PWM) interleaving system is provided. The PWM interleaving system includes active harmonic filters (AHFs). The AHFs are disposed in parallel with each other and with a load. The AHFs are electrically coupled to a common coupling point that is electrically interposed between a grid and the load. The AHFs are configured to affect, by PWM, a characteristic of current flowing between the grid and the load. The PWM interleaving system further includes a controller operably coupled to the AHFs and configured to synchronize the PWMs of the AHFs to thereby cancel ripple currents propagating towards the grid.

Pulse width modulation interleaving

A system including a drive portion, and an external computing device in communication with the drive portion, wherein the external computing device is configured to receive operational data from the drive portion, determine operational parameters based at least in part on the operational data, determine whether the operational parameters are valid, and automatically transmit commands to the drive portion if the operational parameters are valid.

System and method of maintaining performance of a system

A hoist motor () for an elevator () is continuously driven from an irregular power supply (). A regenerative drive () delivers power between the power supply () and the hoist motor (). A controller () measures a power supply voltage in response to a detected change in the power supply voltage and controls the regenerative drive () to adjust a nominal motion profile of the elevator () in proportion with an adjustment ratio of the measured power supply voltage to a normal power supply voltage.

Elevator motor drive tolerant of an irregular power source

A powering arrangement () for a device () that normally operates on three phase power has the capability of operating based upon single phase power. One disclosed technique includes estimating a direct component based upon a measured voltage across the leads coupled with the single phase power supply. The quadrature component is estimated based upon a numerical derivative of the direct component. The direct component is also provided to a current regulator in a feed forward control manner, which minimizes error.

A DC matrix converter having six forward current conducting power switches and six reverse current conducting power switches has the on time duration of each power switch within each pulse width modulation period controlled by relationships between d, q components of a modulation index determined by the ratio of a voltage command to the instantaneous voltage of the AC mains expressed in stationary d, q coordinates, the selection of which is made based on inequalities between the AC mains voltage components expressed in dq coordinates, and relationships of the AC main voltage components expressed in d, q coordinates. Zero vectors are related to the one AC main having lower line-to-neutral voltage than the other AC mains, using relationships between the instantaneous AC mains voltage in d, q coordinates.

Reduced common voltage in a DC matrix converter

A DC matrix converter having six forward current conducting power switches and six reverse current conducting power switches has the on time duration of each power switch within a pulse width modulation period controlled by relationships between d and q components of a modulation index determined by the ratio of a voltage command to the instantaneous voltage of the AC mains expressed in stationary dq coordinates, the selection of which is made based on inequalities between the DC main voltage components expressed in stationary dq coordinates. Switch selection is also performed in response to relationships of the AC main voltage components expressed in stationary dq coordinates. Zero vectors are selected to minimize the common mode voltage.

Control of a DC matrix converter

A low inductance bus bar arrangement includes two electrical conductors and an insulating system. The insulation system includes an insulation material and is disposed between the conductors. The insulation material has a thickness equal to or greater than a thickness threshold such that partial discharge in the insulating material is minimized.
