Updates to a hierarchical data structure may be selectively replicated to other replicas of the hierarchical data structure. An update for a hierarchical data structure may be received and committed to the hierarchical data structure. A determination as to whether any other replicas of the hierarchical data structure have permission to receive the update may be made. For those replicas of the hierarchical data structure with permission to receive the update, the update may be provided to the replicas and committed to the replicas. Different types of replication techniques may be implemented, such as pull-based replication techniques or push-based replication techniques. Replication permissions for objects of the hierarchical data structure may be individually defined, in some embodiments.

Selectively replicating changes to hierarchial data structures

Scaling events may be detected for hosting hierarchical data structures. Scaling events may be detected to modify the capacity of a data store for hierarchical data structures to handle changing write workloads, read workloads, or storage capacity. Hierarchical data structures may be moved from one group of storage hosts to another group of storage hosts according to a filtered snapshot that includes the hierarchical data structures to be moved that is provided to the destination storage hosts. Changes made to the hierarchical data structures made at the source storage hosts during the move can be applied to the filtered snapshot so that the hierarchical data structures may be made available at the destination storage hosts inclusive of the changes.

Scaling events for hosting hierarchical data structures

A schema applicable to the hierarchical data structure may be accessed and evaluated to identify code associated with the object. Embodiments are directed towards managing name service communications. A name service device may be arranged to employ a hardware domain name service (DNS) processor to receive a name service query. The hardware DNS processor may perform operations on the name service query. If operations performed by the hardware DNS processor do not resolve the name service query, further operations may be performed. The name service device may be arranged to provide a name service reply that includes the answer to the name service query. And, the name service device may be arranged to send the name service reply back to the hardware DNS processor. Accordingly, the hardware DNS processor on the name service device may send the name service reply that includes at least an answer to the name service query to the requesting computers.

Methods of collaborative hardware and software DNS acceleration and DDOS protection

A method, computer readable medium, and device for providing authenticated domain name service includes forwarding at a traffic management device a request for a domain name from a client device to one or more servers coupled to the traffic management device. The traffic management device receives a first response comprising at least a portion of the domain name from the one or more servers. The traffic management device attaches a first signature to the first response when the first response is determined by the traffic management device to be an unauthenticated response, and provides the first response with the first signature to the client device.

Methods for DNSSEC proxying and deployment amelioration and systems thereof

A method, computer readable medium, and device for handling requests between different resource record types includes receiving at a traffic management device a first resource record type from one or more server devices in response to a request from a client device. The traffic management device validates the first resource record type, and creates a second resource record type corresponding to the first resource record type after the validating. Signing the second resource record type at the traffic management device is carried out for servicing the request from the client device.
