The present invention provides low-E thin film optical stacks with improved optical and infrared reflecting properties and methods of making the same. More specifically, the present invention provides for a metal oxide thin film coating that exhibits lower emissivity values than its predecessor due to the inclusion of an oxidizer in the metal oxide deposition process, such as a strong acid such as nitric acid. The present invention also provides for a method that increases the coating efficiencies of the thin films described herein.

The present invention provides a photovoltaic device having an optical component that is capable of concentrating solar energy and method of making the same. More specifically, the present invention provides for an on-line produced patterned glass component that is capable of concentrating solar energy and allows for significantly less photovoltaic material to be used in a photovoltaic device. The present invention also provides for an on-line method of making the patterned glass and a method for making a photovoltaic device incorporating the patterned glass described herein.

The present invention provides transparent conductive oxide (TCO) thin films with improved optical and electrical properties and methods of making the same. More specifically, the invention provides on-line processes for producing TCO thin films that allow for improvements in optical properties and post-production improvements in electrical properties of the TCO.

Transparent conductive oxide coating for thin film photovoltaic applications and methods of making the same

The energy-free refrigeration door of the present application provides a way to control condensation when the door of a refrigeration unit is opened by providing thermal insulation to the door with glass panels which have a low emissivity coating. The door includes a door frame housing and an insulating glass unit comprising inner, middle and outer sheets of glass. A first sealant assembly disposed around the periphery of the inner and middle sheets of glass forms a first chamber between the inner and middle sheets of glass. A second sealant assembly disposed around the periphery of the middle and outer sheets of glass forms a second chamber between the middle and outer sheets of glass. A gas, such as krypton, air, or argon is held in the first and second chambers. The outer sheet of glass and inner sheet of glass each have an unexposed surface that faces the middle sheet of glass. A low emissivity coating is disposed on the unexposed surfaces of the inner and outer sheets of glass so that the glass door as a whole avoids formation of condensation on the outer surface of the outer sheet of the glass door, without the application of electricity to heat the door, while also providing the desired evaporation rate of condensation from the inner side of the inner sheet of the glass door. An anti-fog or anti-frost coating is included on a surface of one of the sheets of glass.

Anti-fog refrigeration door and method of making the same

The present invention provides for cost-efficient methods for on-line deposition of semi-conducting metallic layers. More specifically, the present invention provides on-line pyrolytic deposition methods for deposition of p-type, n-type and i-type semi-conducting metallic layers in the float glass production process. Furthermore, the present invention provides for on-line pyrolytic deposition methods for production of single-, double-, triple- and multi-junction p-(i-)n and n-(i-)p type semi-conducting metal layers. Energy-free refrigeration door and method for making the same

A process for cleaning a glass-coating reactor includes: (a) providing the reactor to be cleaned, wherein the reactor contains a glass substrate within a chamber and the chamber has an internal surface coated with at least one substance selected from the group consisting of SiNor SiO; (b) terminating a flow of a deposition gas to the reactor; (c) adding to the reactor at least one cleaning gas to react with the at least one substance to form at least one volatile product; and (d) removing from the reactor the at least one volatile product.
