The present invention is directed to a peel-open package having a first film comprising an exterior sealant layer comprising a polyolefin polymer resin and a fatty acid or a fatty acid derivative, and a second film comprising an exterior layer comprising paper or a nonwoven material. The paper or nonwoven material is adhered to the sealant layer of the first film to form a peelable interface therebetween and to enclose a product, to accordance with the present invention, the polyolefin sealant layer of the first film is heat sealed directly to the paper or nonwoven material of the second film to form a peelable seal which can be readily peeled without substantial release of free fibers form the paper or nonwoven material.

Peel-open package

A child-resistant blister package that is also easily opened by adults. The package includes a formed blister film and a lidstock having at least four layers: i) an inner thermoplastic heat sealable layer; ii) a first intermediate aluminum foil layer; iii) a second intermediate adhesive layer; and iv) an outer layer having a loop shaped score line therethrough. The formed blister film has at least two compartments: (i) a first blister compartment adapted for receiving a product (a); and (ii) a second blister compartment adapted for manual inward deformation activation of separation of the lidstock from itself along a score line tab area portion.

Child-resistant packaging

A gas sterilization package component having (a) a gas diversion wall stock for at least a portion of a container, the wall stock having an opening therethrough; (b) a gas diversion layer; (c) a filter sheet disposed between (a) and (b), the filter sheet having a first surface and an opposing second surface circumscribed by a perimeter edge; and wherein the first surface of the filter sheet is attached to a surface of said gas diversion layer and the second surface of the filter sheet is sealed to a surface of the wall stock whereby an opening in the wall stock is covered by the filter sheet and a gas passageway is defined from the opening through a portion of the second surface of the filter sheet and extending through said filter perimeter edge.
