A process for oligomerizing and oligomerizing olefins to distillate fuels which regenerates a first stage oligomerization catalyst bed and/or a second oligomerization catalyst bed in situ by contact with an oxygen gas at elevated temperature. The oligomerization catalyst can be restored to full activity. A regeneration process can enable continuous operation.

Process for converting olefins to distillate fuels with regeneration

A process for preparing an olefin stream for oligomerization comprises fractionating an olefin stream to provide a light gas stream and an olefin rich stream. Oxygenates are absorbed from the olefin rich stream into a water wash stream to provide an oxygenate rich water wash stream and a washed olefin stream. The washed olefin stream can then be oligomerized.
