A helmet comprising first and second parts and a connector connecting the first and second parts of the helmet, the connector comprising: a first plate; a first anchor point on one side of the first plate, configured to be connected to the first part; a second plate located on an opposite side of the first plate from the first anchor point; a second anchor point on an opposite side of the second plate from the first plate, configured to be connected to the second part; a low friction interface provided between opposing surfaces of the first and second plates; and a cuff of deformable material provided around the first and second plates, and configured to at least partially cover the side of the first plate on which the first anchor point is located and to at least partially cover the side of the second plate on which the second anchor point is located.

Helmet

There is disclosed a connector for connecting first and second parts of an apparatus, the connector comprising: a deformable retainer having first and second sides around an inner space; and a first plate positioned within the inner space to provide a low friction interface between the first and second sides of the retainer; wherein the first side of the retainer has a first anchor point that is configured to connect the connector to the first part of the apparatus; and the second side of the retainer has a second anchor point that is configured to connect the connector to the second part of the apparatus.

Connector with a deformable retainer

A pad for mounting to a helmet, the pad comprising a support member, a first layer of material arranged to cover a first side of the support member and a second layer of material arranged to cover the first layer of material, wherein a low friction interface is arranged between the first layer of material and the second layer of material to enable sliding of the first layer of material relative to the second layer of material, wherein each layer of material is formed from at least one of a textile, a cloth, a fabric and a felt.

Helmet pad

A cheek pad for a helmet, the cheek pad comprising: an outer layer; an inner layer; and a sliding interface between the outer layer and the inner layer; wherein the outer layer and the inner layer are configured to slide relative to each other at the sliding interface, in response to an impact to the helmet, and the inner layer is configured to contact a side of the wearer's face, when the cheek pads are arranged in the helmet and the helmet is worn.

The present invention provides a helmet, comprising first and second components having a sliding interface between them, wherein the sliding interface is provided between respective sliding surfaces of the first and second components, and the first component comprises (a) a mixture of (i) an olefin polymer, (ii) a lubricant, and optionally one or more further agents; or (b) an ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) polymer having a density of ≤960 kg/m, which UHMW polymer is preferably an olefin polymer.

A connector for connecting first and second parts of an apparatus, comprising: an inner region comprising a first anchor point on a first side thereof, the first anchor point being configured to connect the connector to the first part of the apparatus; two, or more, arms extending outward from an edge of the inner region, the arms being formed from a deformable material and configured to connect the connector to the second part of the apparatus; and the inner region further comprising a sliding surface on a second side thereof, opposite the first side, the sliding surface being configured to provide a low friction interface between the inner region and an opposing surface of the second part of the apparatus.
