Bone fusion/fixation device

Devices, systems and methods for altering functioning of a tissue/organ by application of force thereto. In one preferred embodiment, a device for reducing or preventing regurgitation of blood through a valve of a heart is provided. A device may include a main body having a segment adapted to apply force to a surface of tissue/organ and a member that applies counterforce to the force applied by the segment. Kits are provided in which devices having varying lengths and widths can be selected for the best fit for a particular location of treatment. A width sizing instrument may be provided. A length sizing instrument may be provided. A separate sleeve and/or pad may be provided which may be first anchored to the tissue/organ before fixing the device thereto.

The various embodiments disclosed herein relate to bone fixation or fusion devices, including intramedullary fixation or fusion devices that are implanted around the target bone. Methods and apparatuses for phototherapy to treat skin disorders. In particular, described herein are phototherapy dressings for use with phototherapy UV light applicators (sources) to treat skin disorders such as psoriasis. The dressings described herein may include a support body onto which a medicament formed of a hydrogel and coal tar and/or coal tar extract is held. The dressing may be configured so that at least half (50%) of the UV light within a therapeutic range of wavelengths is through the dressing including the medicament to the patient's skin. The dressings may be adapted for use in conjunction with a phototherapy UV light sources.

Methods, compositions and apparatuses for treating psoriasis by phototherapy

Devices, systems and methods for abdominal surgery is disclosed. The system can have a scope coupled to an introducer. The system can have one or more end effectors that can be attached to the introducer and inserted into the abdomen through a small puncture through the patient's umbilicus. The end effector can have a surgical tool, such as a grasper. The system can have a manipulatable control arm that can be inserted into the abdomen through a small puncture through the patient's body wall. The end effector can be attached to the control arm and simultaneously or concurrently detached from the introducer or tray. The control arm can then manipulate the end effector to perform the surgery.
