An illustrative control system for use with a replaceable ozone generator cartridge for use with an aqueous ozone delivery device, for example, for sanitizing objects, including hands, hands and forearms, feet, other tissue, instruments, or other object sanitizing. One embodiment of the control system calculates and transmits usage data to a memory device of the ozone generator cartridge, and also includes various sensors and drivers for controlling an aqueous ozone concentration. The control system also provides other data logging, error detection, and identity verification of the replaceable ozone generator cartridge.

Systems and methods are provided for treating snoring or sleep apnea of a patient that include an implantable device and a retainer. The device includes an elongate filament sized for introduction into or through a patient's tongue and including a distal end and a proximal end, a connection member on the proximal end, and one or more securing elements on or adjacent the distal end. The retainer includes a body configured to be removably engaged with one or more teeth within a patient's mouth, and a connector port for removably engaging the connection member to support the patient's tongue relative to the retainer.

Apparatus and methods are provided for treating sleep apnea, snoring, and the like using an implant within an oropharyngeal region adjacent an anterior longitudinal ligament. The implant may include a central region between first and second outer regions. In one embodiment, one of the outer regions is compressible to allow the outer region to be directed through or behind the ligament such that the central region is disposed within or behind the ligament, the outer region being resiliently expandable after passing through or behind the ligament. In another embodiment, the implant may include one or more tines or other features that may be directed into adjacent tissue, e.g., the anterior longitudinal ligament and/or vertebra to secure the implant within the oropharyngeal region.
