A securing system for a luminaire can include a first cable that is configured to be disposed at least partially within a cavity of the luminaire. The securing system can also include a first securing mechanism that receives a first portion of the first cable, where the first securing mechanism is coupled to a first component of the luminaire, where the first securing mechanism has a motile setting and a non-motile setting. The securing system can further include a second securing mechanism that receives a second portion of the first cable, where the second securing mechanism is coupled to a second component of the luminaire. The first securing mechanism, when in the non-motile setting, can secure the first component and the second component in a fixed position relative to each other using the first cable.

Systems and methods for suspending and securing luminaires

A luminaire includes a frame having a lightguide and at least one light emitting diode disposed to direct light into an edge of the lightguide. A low voltage power cable delivers power to the at least one light emitting diode. A plurality of suspension cables are attached to the frame for suspending the luminaire. At least one acoustic panel is attached to the frame.

A shield for a lighting fixture includes a panel that is optically transparent and a screen attached to the panel. The screen has opaque segments, where the opaque segments have gaps therebetween. The screen is screen printed onto the panel. The opaque segments are distributed on the panel in a pattern.

Systems and methods for installing row-mounted suspended light fixtures. Each of a row of suspended light fixtures includes brackets disposed on opposite ends of the fixture. Each bracket includes a slot configured to slidably receive an adjustment clip coupled to a support member, such as a ceiling cable or pendant. Each adjustment clip includes first and second segments disposed at a non-zero, acute angle relative to one another such that a space separates the first and second segments. The space is configured to receive a portion of one or more brackets associated with the adjustment clip, proximate the bracket slot(s). An operator can install the light fixtures by positioning a fastener through each adjustment clip, outside the bracket slot(s). He also can adjust an alignment and balance of one or more of the light fixtures by sliding one or more of the adjustment clips along the slot(s) associated therewith.

A direct-indirect luminaire including a pair of sockets for receiving at least one tubular fluorescent lamp; a louver, arranged on one side of the lamp socket, for controlling downlight from the lamp; and a shutter, arranged on an opposite side of the lamp socket, for controlling uplight from the lamp. The shutter may include a plurality of adjustably sizeable apertures which may be formed by adjacent members that are slidable relative to each other, with matching patterns of overlapping openings. The adjacent members may further include nested concave surfaces facing the lamp, such as channel-shaped members with openings that are arranged on at least two walls of the channel. A positioner may also be provided for designating a size of the apertures. For example, the positioner may include a protuberance on one of the adjacent members for engaging a hole in the other of the adjacent members.
