A carton is provided having a door that is shiftable from a closed position to an open position to permit access to an interior of the carton. The door includes a gripping tab for opening the door. The gripping tab is restricted from movement by a blocking member prior to the initial shifting of the door from the closed position to the open position. Upon sufficient movement of the gripping tab, the blocking member is removable to permit shifting of the door from the closed position to the open position, thereby permitting access to the interior of the carton.

Apparatus for shipping and preparing baked food products includes a receptacle containing the food product, a baking shield upstanding above the receptacle, and a shipping carton. To prepare for shipping, the baking shield is placed at the bottom of the receptacle and is configured for a nesting fit. The baking shield may have either a frustoconical sidewall or a concave trough-like sidewall.

Apparatus for shipping and preparing baked food products

A one-dish frozen dinner product having an integral bread ring is provided. A method for making a one-dish frozen dinner product having an integral bread ring is also provided. The one-dish frozen dinner product preferably includes a receptacle containing the one-dish frozen dinner product, a baking shield upstanding above the receptacle, and a shipping carton. Even more preferably, the baking shield is placed at the bottom of the receptacle containing the one-dish frozen dinner product and is configured for a nesting fit. The baking shield may have either a frustoconical sidewall or a concave trough-like sidewall.
