Tape lighting connection apparatus

A tape light termination system includes a terminal in a housing. The terminal includes an electrically conducting contact area and a termination lug to fixedly connect an electric conductor with the terminal and provide an electrically conducting path between the termination lug and the contact point. The housing includes compartments sized to receive and hold the terminal, and slots which are positioned and dimensioned to receive opposing edges of a light emitting diode (LED) tape light. The LED tape light includes a flexible strip having LED diode circuitry and an electrically conductive pad on the planar surface. Each of the slots provide access in the housing to the electrically conductive contact area and alignment of the electrically conducting contact area of the terminal to contiguously contact the electrically conductive pad and enable a current flow path therebetween.

Tape light termination system

A rotatable shelf illumination system may include a rotatable shelf having a groove in which one or more light sources may be mounted. A refractive lens may be mounted in the groove covering the one or more light sources. The rotatable shelf may be, for example, a lazy susan. A removeable and rechargeable power supply may be controlled by a controller circuitry to selectively energize the one or more light sources when rotation of the rotatable shelf is detected. A magnetic field sensor may be used with the controller circuitry to detect rotational movement of the rotatable shelf. The controller circuitry may implement energy conservation measures to prolong the charge of the rechargeable power supply.

Rotatable shelf illumination system

A panel lighting system includes a translucent panel formed to include a channel in a boundary wall of the translucent panel. A flexible circuit board may be mounted on the boundary wall such that LEDs mounted sequentially on the flexible circuit board extend into the channel. The LEDs may be fixedly maintained in the channel by the flexible circuit board being adhesively coupled with the boundary wall adjacent the channel. The system may also include an edge connector coupled to the boundary wall. The edge connector may be a corner edge connector or a side edge connector configured to fixedly hold a coupler that couples and provides strain relief for a cable.

A light switch includes an outer housing formed with a plurality of intersecting walls to define a recess and including a first ferromagnetic material. The outer housing is configured to be coupled with an external structure by a plurality of mounting brackets integrally formed as part of the outer housing and extending outwardly therefrom. The light switch also includes an inner housing. The inter housing includes a user controllable switch mechanism and a second ferromagnetic material. At least one of the first ferromagnetic material and the second ferromagnetic material comprises a permanent magnet, and the inner housing is sized to be received and removably maintained in the recess formed in the outer housing by magnetic attraction between the first ferromagnetic material and the second ferromagnetic material.

A lighting system including an extrusion, a lighted strip, a control board, and a connector. The extrusion comprises a pair of side walls coupled by a connecting member, where the connecting member forms a first shelf for a lighted strip and a pair of flanges projecting from the side walls form a second shelf for a control board. The connector comprises a shell with an outer surface which is adapted to be coupled with the extrusion, and a pin which can be adapted to receive a wire adjacent a first end of the connector. The pin also including a curved contact plate which can be adapted to receive the lighted strip adjacent a second end of the connector.

Modular LED lighting systems can provide under-cabinet lighting. According to some embodiments, an LED lighting system may be provided with at least one LED light strip, a switch unit, and a removable electrical connector electrically connecting the at least one LED light strip to the switch unit in an end-to-end configuration. According to other embodiments, a modular under-cabinet LED lighting system may be provided having a plurality of LED light strip units having a female power receptacle at each end thereof, and at least one removable electrical connector received within respective female power receptacles at respective ends of an adjacent pair of the LED light strip units to electrically connect the pair of LED light strip units in series one to another in an end-to-end configuration. Because of the modular nature of the various components, a lighting system tailored to a specific under-cabinet lighting need can be provided.

Modular  LED lighting systems and kits

Position adjustable self-illuminated panel units may be used in combination with conventional shelf supports. Preferred shelf-units include a light-transmissive panel, a shelf frame holding the panel and having an illumination element for providing a light source to illuminate the panel, and a magnetic connector electrically interconnected to the illumination element and adapted to being magnetically and electrically coupled to a source of electrical power. The illumination element most preferably includes an LED strip housed within one member of the frame and positioned adjacent to an edge of the panel. A magnetic connector includes a pair of electrically conductive side panels, an electrically non-conductive spacer sandwiched between the side panels, and a pair of magnet bars fixed to the spacer. The magnet bars define an air gap therebetween such that electrical contact may be established between the magnet bars and a respective one of the side panels. Shelf lighting systems according to the present invention will most preferably include a self-illuminated panel unit as described briefly above, and a ferromagnetic power strip for supplying electrical power thereto. The magnetic connector is therefore capable of magnetic and electrical interconnection to the power strip (e.g., via the magnet bars thereof so as to in turn supply power to the panel unit (e.g., via lead wires connecting the side panels to the LED strip).

Self-illuminated structural panel units and systems including the same

Under-cabinet lighting systems and methods include lighting fixtures are capable of being hidden from view by a decorative molding forming a part of the cabinetry. Such decorative molding also serves the dual purpose of a wiring raceway and a physical support for the lighting fixture. The lighting fixture includes a mounting clip which is especially adapted to be engaged removably with the wiring channel of the molding at a desired location along the length thereof. The mounting clip may be integrally provided with a component of the lighting fixture or may be provided as a separate structure which is removeably attached thereto. At the location of the lighting fixture the wiring may be extended into engagement with knife contacts of the fixture which pierce the insulation of the wiring and establish electrical contact with the bulb. In such a manner, hidden under-cabinet lighting fixtures may be provided which are relatively easy to install as a component part of the cabinetry.
