Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to techniques for neuromodulation delivery. Based on image data acquired from the subject, control parameters controlling energy application of neuromodulating energy may be dynamically changed during the course of the delivery to maintain desired characteristics of the neuromodulating energy. For example, the beam of the neuromodulating energy may be dynamically adjusted to account for movement of an organ during breathing. In another embodiment, a desired region of interest is identified within the subject based on a trained neural network and the acquired image data.

Delivery of therapeutic neuromodulation

The present approaches are generally directed to facilitating healing of wounds, including chronic wounds typically associated with slow heal times or which are persistent. In one embodiment, a method of promoting wound healing comprises positioning an ultrasound transducer at a stimulation site on a subject having a wound. Pulsed focused ultrasound (pFUS) is non-invasively applies using the transducer to cause modulation of a target anatomic site containing resident or circulating immune cells. Modulation of the target anatomic site of the subject causes migration of one or more of monocytes, macrophages, or neutrophils to a wound bed of the wound.

Accelerating cutaneous healing utilizing non-invasive focused ultrasound

A closed system centrifuge tube is described and discussed herein that enables removal of waste and transfer and removal of samples via one or more ports of the centrifuge tube within the closed system, without exposing the sample to the outer environment. This may enable greater sample retention during sample processing and centrifugation of the sample.

The subject matter of the present disclosure generally relates to techniques for applying focused ultrasound energy to a region of interest in a subject to induce neuromodulation of the celiac plexus to treat inflammatory bowel disease. The region of interest ay include at least a portion of a peripheral ganglion of the celiac plexus.

Neuromodulation to treat physiological conditions

The subject matter of the present disclosure generally relates to techniques for neuromodulation that include applying energy (e.g., ultrasound energy) into the tissue to cause a change in a glucose transporter pathway molecule and/or an incretin pathway molecule. In one embodiment, the neuromodulation is performed as a treatment of a metabolic disorder.

The subject matter of the present disclosure generally relates to techniques for following a treatment protocol having one or more treatment parameters to cause a targeted physiological outcome at a distal site, assessing an expression level of a gene in a region of interest after completing the treatment protocol, and modifying the one or more treatment parameters based on the expression level of the gene. The treatment protocol may include one or more ultrasound energy treatments to the region of interest.

Neuromodulation techniques

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to techniques for inducing physiological perturbations in a subject via neuromodulation, e.g., peripheral neuromodulation of a region of interest of an organ. The nature and degree of the perturbations may be related to the subject's clinical condition. Accordingly, an assessment of one or more characteristics of the perturbations may be used to determine a clinical condition of the subject.

Neuromodulation techniques for perturbation of physiological systems

The subject matter of the present disclosure generally relates to techniques for neuromodulation that include applying energy (e.g., ultrasound energy) into an internal tissue to cause tissue displacement and identifying that the tissue displacement has occurred. In one embodiment, the presence of tissue displacement is associated with a desired therapeutic or physiological outcome, such as a change in a molecule of interest.

Noninvasive tissue displacement control and monitoring for neuromodulation

The subject matter of the present disclosure generally relates to techniques for neuromodulation of lymphatic tissue that include applying one or more energy pulses to a neuron of a subject, e.g., via an electrode positioned to deliver sufficient energy to the neuron, to modulate immune function. For example, an adaptive immune reflex of a subject may be modulated via neuromodulation.

Techniques for neuromodulation

The subject matter of the present disclosure generally relates to techniques for addressing or correcting dysregulation of the trauma regulation pathway. The dysregulation may be associated with a physiological condition, such as a SARS-CoV-2 viral infection. In an embodiment, the techniques include treating dysregulation based on a renin-angiotensin pathway molecule or cell and/or a splenic pathway molecule or cell using targeted neuromodulation. In an embodiment, neuromodulation is used to regulate the immune system, e.g., as an energy-based adjuvant for a vaccine.

Dysregulation of trauma regulation pathway treatment and monitoring techniques

The subject matter of the present disclosure generally relates to techniques for applying mechanical or ultrasound energy to a region of interest in a subject to induce modulation of one or more nerve pathways. The region of interest may include at least a portion of a nerve ganglion.

Techniques for accurate positioning of an energy application device for neuromodulation treatment protocols are provided. A neuromodulation positioning patch is applied to a patient's skin. The energy application device is coupled to a frame of the neuromodulation positioning patch to position a transducer of the energy application device within an opening at a treatment position within the opening. The frame is also coupled to a removable dock for an imaging probe. When the frame is coupled to the removable dock the frame of the neuromodulation positioning patch, acquires image data through the opening to identify or verify the treatment position.

Neuromodulation energy application techniques

The subject matter of the present disclosure generally relates to techniques for neuromodulation of a tissue (e.g., an organ) that include applying energy (e.g., ultrasound energy) into the tissue to cause altered activity at a synapse between a neuron and a non-neuronal cell. In one embodiment, the energy is applied to cause competing or opposing effects for bi-directional control of physiological processes.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to techniques for facilitating personalized neuromodulation treatment protocols. In one embodiment, a predetermined treatment position of an energy application device is used to guide future treatments for the patient. In one embodiment, a position of the energy application device relative to the predetermined treatment position is determined. In one embodiment, a total dose of ultrasound energy applied to the region of interest is determined.
