Systems, components, devices, and methods for generating suggestions for content files are provided. A non-limiting example is a method for generating suggestions for arranging content. The method includes the step of receiving a content file from a client, the content file including a content region and a content element. The method also includes the step of analyzing the content file to select a blueprint for the content region. The method further includes the step of generating a suggestion for arranging the content region based on the selected blueprint. Additionally, the method includes the step of transmitting the suggestion to the client.

Content file suggestions

A messaging protocol supporting the homogenization of telematics data across a variety of remote monitoring contexts is disclosed. For example, different remote monitoring contexts may include vehicle monitoring and pet monitoring. The messaging protocol includes client-side and server-side implementations.

Homogenization of telematics data through unified messaging protocol

A method and system for organizing slides by analyzing content and offering alternative solutions for placing content on the slides in an effective and visually interesting organization is provided. The presentation application automatically generates alternative design suggestions for the provided content that effectively utilize the slide space pursuant to analytics performed on the content. Providing alternative design suggestions for organizing content on a slide assists in quickly and easily creating presentations that effectively utilize slide space.

Automatic presentation of slide design suggestions

A suggestion service is disclosed herein that provides suggested diagrammatic representations of textual information in content. The suggestion service receives a request for a suggested diagrammatic representation of the textual information included in a content item. The suggestion service also identifies a layout for the suggested diagrammatic representation based on a type of the textual information. The suggestion service further produces the suggested diagrammatic representation of the textual information based on the layout. The suggestion service replies to the request with the suggested diagrammatic representation(s).

Providing suggested diagrammatic representations of user entered textual information

Systems, components, devices, and methods for generating suggestions based on extracting colors from an image are provided. A non-limiting example is a method for generating suggestions for arranging content based on matching colors in an image. The method includes the step of receiving a content file. The content file includes a content region and an image. The method also includes the step of analyzing the image to identify candidate colors in the image. Additionally, the method includes the step of generating a suggestion for the content region. The suggestion includes the image and a suggested design element. The suggested design element matches one of the identified candidate colors.

Image analysis based color suggestions

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and system for authoring a presentation with electronic ink data. Specifically, embodiments disclosed herein provide for receiving touch input and identifying type object(s) of presentation data that correspond to the received touch input. A layout may then be identified, in certain embodiments, corresponding to the touch input. A presentation is then generated based on the received touch input, identified type objects, and identified layout. The presentation data is then displayed.

Authoring presentations with ink

Technologies are described herein for converting presentations between differing slide dimensions and aspect ratios. A scaling factor is calculated from the difference between the original dimensions of the slide and the new dimensions of the converted slide. Next, the content objects on the slide are scaled based on the scaling factor such that the aspect ratio of the content object is maintained. A horizontal position zone and vertical position zone is determined for each content object on the slide, and new coordinates for the position of the content objects are calculated utilizing formulas based on the horizontal position zone and a vertical position zone determined for each.

Dimensional conversion in presentations

Many devices present a cursor on a display. In order to facilitate the user's visual identification and tracking of the location of the cursor, the device may present the cursor with many visual variations, such as blinking the cursor, or selecting colors for the cursor that contrast with the background. However, these techniques may only marginally increase the visibility of the cursor in some circumstances, and/or may appear visually unappealing to the user. Presented herein are techniques for presenting a cursor on the display as a first cursor layer in a first cursor color that blends with the background color, and, under the first layer, a second cursor layer in a contrasting cursor color with respect to the first cursor color and the background. The device may also periodically remove the first layer to display the contrasting second layer and to indicate the location of the cursor to the user.

Contrast-oriented cursor presentation

A method and system for organizing slides and providing navigational elements within the slides using a presentation application is provided. The presentation application automatically generates an organized set of linkable slides corresponding to subheadings provided by the creator. Prompting a presentation creator to initially consider the presentation structure and provide subheadings that relate to broad concepts within the presentation assists in preventing a potential massive reorganization of the presentation after content has been added.

Automated system for organizing presentation slides

Technologies are described herein for converting presentations between differing slide dimensions and aspect ratios. During dimensional conversion of a slide, foreground objects placed on the slide by a user are dimensionally scaled and repositioned on the slide based on a change in the overall dimensions of the slide, while background objects on the slide originating from a slide master associated with the slide are replaced with corresponding background objects from a new template associated with the new aspect ratio of the slide. Any content and/or properties of the old background objects on the slide are copied to the corresponding background objects on the dimensionally converted slide.

Technologies are described herein for converting presentations between differing slide dimensions and aspect ratios. A presentation program provides a graphical user interface that includes a theme gallery and a theme variation gallery. Users can apply a theme to a slide by selecting a theme thumbnail image. Once selected, a corresponding set of theme variations are indicated in the theme variation gallery using theme variation thumbnail images. Users can apply the desired theme variation by selecting the theme variation thumbnail image. Once selected, the theme variation is applied to the slide. A theme variation family identifier is stored in the slide file that allows subsequent identification of the theme, and allows a presentation program to subsequently identify theme variations for display on the theme variation gallery. A file structure is identified that allows backwards compatibility so that a presentation file of a slide with theme variations can be opened by an earlier version of a presentation program that does not implement theme variations.

Providing theme variations in a user interface

An animation timeline is analyzed to determine one or more discrete states. Each discrete state includes one or more animation effects. The discrete states represent scenes of a slide in a slide presentation. The concepts of scenes allows user to view a timeline of scenes, open a scene, and direct manipulate objects in the scene to author animations. The animations can include motion path animation effects, which can be directly manipulated utilizing a motion path tweening method. To aid in direct manipulation of a motion path of an object, a ghost version of the object can be shown to communicate to a user the position of the object after a motion path animation effect that includes the motion path is performed. The ghost version may also be used to show a start position when a start point is manipulated.
