A machine for distributing material from a package of compressed loosefill insulation material is provided. The machine includes a lower unit having a front panel. A shredding chamber is bounded on one side by the front panel and the shredding chamber receives compressed loosefill insulation material from a source of compressed loosefill insulation material. The shredding chamber including a plurality of shredders for shredding, picking apart, and conditioning the loosefill insulation material. A discharge mechanism is mounted to receive the conditioned loosefill insulation material exiting the shredding chamber and to distribute the conditioned loosefill insulation material into an airstream. A removable front access assembly covers a portion of the front panel of the lower unit and includes a control panel having a plurality of control devices. Removal of the removable front access assembly makes the plurality of shredders and the discharge mechanism within the lower unit accessible for inspection, replacement, or repair.

Loosefill insulation blowing machine

A machine for distributing material from a package of compressed loosefill insulation material is provided. The machine includes a chute having an inlet end and an outlet end. The inlet end is configured to receive compressed loosefill insulation material. A lower unit has a shredding chamber configured to receive the compressed loosefill insulation material from the outlet end of the chute. The shredding chamber includes a plurality of shredders configured to condition the loosefill insulation material. The shredders include a shredder shaft and a plurality of vane assemblies. The vane assemblies are oriented such that adjacent vane assemblies are offset from each other by an angle of about 45&#xb0; to about 75&#xb0;. A discharge mechanism receives the loosefill insulation material exiting the shredding chamber and distributes the loosefill insulation material into an airstream and a blower is configured to provide the airstream flowing through the discharge mechanism.

A machine for distributing loosefill insulation material from a package of compressed loosefill insulation material. The machine includes a chute having an inlet end and an outlet end. The inlet end receives compressed loosefill insulation material. The chute has a first portion and a second portion. The first portion forms an angle with the second portion. A shredding chamber receives the compressed loosefill insulation material from the chute. The shredding chamber forms conditioned loosefill insulation material. A discharge mechanism is configured to distribute the conditioned loosefill insulation material into an airstream. A blower provides the airstream. The angle between the first and second portions of the chute is configured to form a bend in the package of compressed loosefill insulation material. The bend in the package of compressed loosefill insulation material is configured to control the descent and direction of the loosefill insulation material entering the shredding chamber.

A machine for distributing blowing insulation material from a package of compressed loosefill insulation material is provided. The machine includes a chute having an inlet end and outlet end. The inlet end is configured to receive the package of compressed loosefill insulation material. The chute further has a removable hose hub extending within the interior of the chute. The removable hose hub is configured for wrapping with a distribution hose. A lower unit is configured to receive the compressed loosefill insulation material exiting the outlet end of the chute. The lower unit includes a plurality of shredders and a discharge mechanism. The discharge mechanism is configured to discharge conditioned loosefill insulation material into an airstream.

The inlet end is configured to receive the package of compressed insulation material. The chute further has a removable hose hub configured for wrapping with a distribution hose. The removable hose hub is further configured for engagement with opposing flange assemblies such that rotation of the hose hub results in rotation of the flange assemblies. A lower unit is configured to receive the compressed insulation material exiting the outlet end of the chute. The lower unit includes a plurality of shredders and a discharge mechanism. The discharge mechanism is configured to discharge conditioned insulation material into an airstream.

The inlet end receives the loosefill insulation material. A shredding chamber is configured to receive the loosefill insulation material from the outlet end. A discharge mechanism is mounted to receive the conditioned material. The discharge mechanism is configured to distribute the conditioned material into an airstream. A blower is configured to provide the airstream flowing through the discharge mechanism. The blower has a rotational speed that defines the volume and the velocity of the airstream. A remote control assembly is configured to communicate with the machine such that the volume and velocity of the airstream can be adjusted in a remote location.

A machine for distributing insulation material from a package of compressed insulation material has a chute having an inlet end and an outlet end, the inlet end configured to receive compressed insulation material. A lower unit has a shredding chamber configured to receive the insulation material from the outlet end of the chute. The shredding chamber includes shredders and at least one agitator configured to condition the insulation material, thereby forming conditioned insulation material. A discharge mechanism receives the conditioned insulation material exiting the shredding chamber and distributes the conditioned insulation material into a distribution airstream. A blower is configured to provide the distribution airstream flowing through the discharge mechanism, the blower driven by a blower motor. A flow rate of the distribution airstream can be varied by control the rotational speed of the blower motor, thereby varying the density, coverage and thermal insulative value of the distributed insulation material.

Methods and apparatus for mixing and applying a bead of material. For example, the bead of material can be used to seal gaps cracks and seams of a building. The apparatus includes a supply machine and an applicator. The supply machine provides each of the parts of the material to the applicator at a controlled rate. The applicator mixes the parts of the material at a nozzle. The applicator provides a bead (rather than spraying) of the mixed material through the nozzle. The bead of material may be applied in a precise manner to seal gaps, cracks and seams of an existing building and/or the bead may be provided during new construction of a building between components of the building.

A machine for distributing blowing wool from a bag of compressed blowing wool is provided. The machine includes a chute having an inlet end configured to receive the bag of compressed blowing wool. A shredding chamber is positioned downstream from the chute and configured to shred and pick apart the blowing wool. The shredding chamber includes a plurality of shredders configured for rotation. Each shredder includes a plurality of paddle assemblies mounted to a shredder shaft. Each paddle assembly has a plurality of paddles. The paddles have a hardness within the range of 60 A to 70 A Durometer to better grip the blowing wool for shredding and prevent jamming of the blowing wool within the shredder.
