Systems, methods, and apparatus for an electromagnetic (EM) panel are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, a disclosed electromagnetic (EM) panel comprises an outer skin, an inner skin, a core disposed between the outer skin and the inner skin, and at least one receiver to receive at least one first signal. In at least one embodiment, at least one receiver is disposed within an opening on the outer skin of the EM panel. At least one receiver is an optical sensor(s) and/or a radio frequency (RF) antenna(s). In one or more embodiments, the EM panel further comprises at least one transmitter to transmit at least one second signal. In at least one embodiment, at least one transmitter is disposed within an opening on the outer skin of the EM panel. At least one transmitter is a laser(s) and/or a RF antenna(s).

Conformal load bearing distributed sensing arrays

A system for optical detection may include a focal plane array. The system may further include one or more lenses configured to focus a collimated light beam received at the one or more lenses onto the focal plane array, where a position of the collimated light beam on the focal plane array is based on an incident angle of propagation of the collimated light beam at the one or more lenses. The system may also include a micro-channel plate collimator positioned within an optical path of the collimated light beam. The system may include a processor configured to determine the incident angle of propagation of the collimated light beam and to retrieve data encoded within the collimated light beam.

System and method for receiving signal information for networking using a free space optical link

A method and system for establishing a free space optical link that includes creating a first link between a first vehicle and a second vehicle and pointing a laser from the first vehicle to the second vehicle. The method includes steering the laser in a spiral pattern and recording a time at the first vehicle of each incremental position of the laser in a spiral pattern. The method includes detecting the laser at the second vehicle, recording the time of detection at the second vehicle, and steering the laser to the positions that coincide with the detection times of the second vehicle to establish an optical link between the first and second vehicles. The first link may be a RF link. The free space optical link may be created with a conformal panel having an RF array, an optical detecting aperture, and an optical beam directing aperture.

System and method for establishing a free space optical link without gimbaled optics

The present invention includes a system and method for accurately locating moving targets. The system includes a targeting aircraft that has a radar system with a simultaneous SAR radar/moving target mode that generates an image and identifies moving targets in the generated image. The targeting aircraft also includes a mapping component that matches the generated image to a stored digital map, and generates moving target location information based on the matched image and map and the identified moving targets.
