The controller is configured to receive the parameter, control the brush roll motor based on the parameter and a first floor coefficient, determine a second floor coefficient based on the parameter, and control the brush roll motor based on the second floor coefficient.

System and method for operating a cleaning system based on a surface to be cleaned

A vacuum cleaner including a debris separator that includes a housing, a cyclonic separator including a cylindrical wall having a first end and a second end. The cylindrical wall is located in within the housing and the cyclonic separator further includes a dirty air inlet, a clean air outlet, a debris outlet adjacent the second end, and a longitudinal axis surrounded by the cylindrical wall and the longitudinal axis of the cyclonic separator extends in generally a horizontal orientation. The debris separator further includes a lid coupled to the housing and the cyclonic separator is coupled to the lid such that the cyclonic separator is removable from the housing with the lid. A debris collection chamber is located within the housing and in fluid communication with the debris outlet of the cyclonic separator.

A steamer includes a housing, a power cord configured to be selectively coupled to an external power source, a battery, a fluid reservoir positioned in the housing, a reservoir heating element configured to preheat fluid in the fluid reservoir, a steam generating device operable to receive preheated fluid from the fluid reservoir and generate steam, and a nozzle in fluid communication with the steam generating device. The reservoir heating element receives power from the external power source when the power cord is in communication with the external power source. The steam generating device receives power from the battery when the power cord is unplugged from the external power source. The nozzle is configured to receive the steam from the steam generating device and discharge the steam through the nozzle.

An accessory tool for a vacuum cleaner. The accessory tool includes a main body including a suction conduit configured to be coupled to the vacuum cleaner, a suction opening in fluid communication with the suction conduit, a longitudinal first brush made from a first material positioned adjacent the suction opening, and a second brush spaced from the first brush forming a brush opening between the first and second brushes configured to receive an object being cleaned. The second brush is made from a second material different than the first material and generally positioned over the first brush.

The vacuum further includes a height adjustment mechanism including a knob and a ramp. The knob is operable to rotate the ramp with respect to the housing, and the lift assembly is coupled to the ramp such that the lift assembly moves along the ramp to move the inlet from the lower position to the upper position in response to rotation of the ramp by the knob. The ramp includes a first end that defines a lower position of the inlet and a second end that defines an upper position of the inlet, and the ramp has a continuous incline from the first end to the second end.

The upper portion is located outside of the first container such that the upper portion forms an outside wall of the dirt cup above the sidewall of the container. The shroud further includes an intermediate portion between the lower portion and the upper portion, and the intermediate portion is coupled to the sidewall of the first container.

A steam cleaner that includes a cleaning tool having a first cleaning surface configured to contact the surface being cleaned and a second cleaning surface configured to contact the surface being cleaned. The steam cleaner further includes a coupling operable to removably couple the cleaning tool and a conduit. The coupling includes a locking member movable from an engaged position to a disengaged position. The cleaning tool is coupled to the conduit for movement with the conduit when the locking member is in the engaged position and the cleaning tool is removable from the conduit when the locking member is in the disengaged position. The coupling further includes an actuator manually movable from a locked position to an unlocked position to move the locking member from the engaged position to the disengaged position, and a biasing member that biases the actuator toward the locked position.

The cleaning pad includes an aperture that allows the cleaning fluid to flow from the dispensing nozzle, through the aperture, and onto the surface.

A dirt cup for a vacuum cleaner including a container, a tube, a lid, a first chamber, a second chamber, and a seal. The container includes an open bottom end. The lid is coupled to the container. The lid includes an aperture that extends through the lid. The lid is movable between a closed position where the lid covers the open bottom end and an open position for emptying the container through the open bottom end. The seal is coupled to the lid and includes a flange and a post that extends from the flange. The post extends into the aperture of the lid to couple the seal to the lid. The seal is positioned between the lid and the tube when the lid is in the closed position to inhibit airflow between the first chamber and the second chamber.
