An orthodontic remodeling system includes an extraoral vibratory source coupled to a bite plate, where the extraoral vibratory source is operable to vibrate the bite plate at a frequency in a range of 0.1 to 400 Hz. The bite plate is configured to deliver cyclic forces simultaneously to teeth of the maxillary and mandibular arches, and the bite plate and the extraoral vibratory source are held during use only by clamping with the teeth. A battery is operable to power the extraoral vibratory source, and a processor is configured to control the extraoral vibratory source. Electronic media is operable to capture data indicating usage duration and usage frequency to allow patient compliance to be determined.

System and method for correcting malocclusion

Methods of inducing tooth movement and treating malocclusion include reducing orthodontic treatment duration by daily applying cyclic forces simultaneously to teeth of the maxillary and mandibular arches during a treatment period. The teeth are also receiving static forces generated by an orthodontic appliance during the treatment period. The cyclic forces applied daily by clamping the teeth down on a bite plate, and activating an extraoral vibration source configured to deliver the cyclic forces to the bite plate at a constant frequency and a maximum force. Data indicating usage duration and usage frequency is stored electronically.

The computer-assisted diagnostic hearing test includes an ambient noise monitoring module configured to monitor an ambient noise in a surrounding environment, a patient information module configured to receive patient information and hearing related tests selections, and a pure tone threshold module configured to facilitate manual testing of a pure tone threshold test. The computer-assisted diagnostic hearing test further includes a speech reception threshold module configured to facilitate manual testing of a speech reception threshold test, and a speech discrimination module configured to facilitate manual testing of a speech discrimination test.

The systems comprise an insertion probe for insertion into an ear of a patient, at least one transducer for providing test sounds to the ear of the patent through the insertion probe, and at least one transducer for transmitting test results from the ear of the patient. The systems are capable of conducting an audiometric test and at least one of an acoustic immittance test and an otoacoustic emission test. More preferably, the systems are capable of conducting an audiometric test, a tympanogram test, an acoustic reflex test, and an otoacoustic emission test using a single ear probe.

The system comprises a yoke wearable around the neck of a patient, for providing a housing for conduits and wiring to conduct the hearing tests. The yoke may also coupled to one or more ear probes for engaging the ear of the patient, and to at least one microphone for measuring ambient noise during at least a portion of a hearing test.

An apparatus for bone conduction hearing testing is provided. The apparatus comprises a planar spring having opposed first and second elements to which are coupled, respectively, a bone conduction vibrator and an engagement element. The bone conduction vibrator contacts a first head portion, preferably the forehead, and the engagement element contacts a second head portion, preferably the rear of the head. The spring preferably has a lenticular shape, and may be either biconvex or D-shaped.
