Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for unlocking a wireless communication device into an operating mode based on RFID element information. In a particular embodiment, a method provides locking a user interface on the wireless communication device. The method further provides receiving a wireless signal from a first Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) element and responsively determining if the wireless signal comprises a valid unlock instruction. If the first signal comprises the valid unlock instruction, then the method provides selecting one of the operating modes for the wireless communication device, unlocking the user interface on the wireless communication device, and operating the wireless communication device in the selected operating mode.

RFID information used to unlock a user interface for a wireless communication device

A wireless communication device (WCD) and wireless communication method are provided. The WCD in one example includes a WI-FI transceiver configured to exchange wireless communications using a WI-FI communication protocol, an alternative wireless transceiver configured to exchange wireless communications using an alternative wireless communication protocol, and a processing system coupled to the WI-FI transceiver and the alternative wireless transceiver. The processing system is configured to transmit keep-alive messages to a wireless hotspot at intervals using the alternative wireless transceiver, determine WI-FI connectivity to the wireless hotspot based on wireless hotspot responses to the keep-alive messages, and if WI-FI connectivity to the wireless hotspot is to be initiated in the WCD, then generate a WI-FI communication readiness indication in the WCD if wireless hotspot connectivity is available and exchange communications with the wireless hotspot by emulating WI-FI communications using the alternative wireless transceiver.

Wireless communication device and method for interacting with a wireless hotspot

A device for cleaning inside electrical-connection sockets, methods for constructing such cleaning devices, and methods for using such cleaning devices are illustrated herein. The device may be shaped like an electrical plug designed for coupling with the electrical-connection socket. The device includes a primary fluid-duct, ejection ducts, and ejection ports for allowing fluid to be injected into the chamber. A cleaning fluid is pushed through the device into the chamber. Air can then be pushed into the chamber.
