In a method and apparatus for identifying an organ structure of an examined object in magnetic resonance image data, magnetic resonance measurement data for the organ structure of the examined object are acquired by operation of a magnetic resonance scanner using a magnetic resonance sequence that specifies a sampling scheme of k-space. Magnetic resonance image data are reconstructed from the magnetic resonance measurement data. The organ structure is identified in the magnetic resonance image data. The sampling scheme of k-space is selected so as to support the subsequent identification of the organ structure in the magnetic resonance image data reconstructed from the magnetic resonance measurement data.

The present invention provides a data mining framework for mining high-quality structured clinical information. The data mining framework includes a data miner that mines medical information from a computerized patient record (CPR) based on domain-specific knowledge contained in a knowledge base. The data miner includes components for extracting information from the CPR, combining all available evidence in a principled fashion over time, and drawing inferences from this combination process. The mined medical information is stored in a structured CPR which can be a data warehouse.

The invention relates to a combined radiation therapy and magnetic resonance unit. The chance of survivability and chance of complication are used as or instead of the tumor control probability and normal tissue complications probability, respectively. The desired tumor dosage and tolerance dosage are selected as a function of the patient specific dose distributions. The selected dosages are input to an inverse treatment planning system for establishing radiation treatment parameters.

The second radiation therapy process comprises acquisition of three-dimensional image data of the patient, determination of a second position offset based on the three-dimensional image data and on the first image data, and movement of the patient based on the second position offset.
