The present teachings describe a printhead assembly. The printhead assembly includes a first plate and a second plate stacked together. The printhead assembly includes a first adhesive between the first plate and the second plate for bonding the plates together. The printhead assembly includes a second adhesive surrounding an outer edge of the first adhesive wherein the second adhesive has an oxygen migration rate lower than an oxygen migration rate of the first adhesive. An oxygen sensitive component is contained within the outer edge of the first adhesive.

A method of manufacturing a print head includes forming a jet stack having an array of jets, arranging an array of transducers on the jet stack such that each transducer in the array of transducers corresponds to each jet in the array of jets, embossing a flexible circuit substrate having contact pads such that the contact pads extend out of a plane of the flexible circuit substrate, and arranging the flexible circuit substrate such that the contact pads electrically connect to at least some of the transducers in the array of transducers.

Method of manufacturing a print head

A print head has a jet stack having an array of jets, an array of transducers arranged on the jet stack such that each transducer corresponds to a jet in the array of jets, and a flexible circuit substrate arranged adjacent the array of transducers such that contact pads on the flexible circuit substrate make electrical connection to at least some of the array of transducers, the flexible circuit substrate being embossed so that the contact pads extend out of a plane of the flexible circuit substrate.

A heater for use in a phase change ink printhead reservoir is provided that includes a first insulating layer having at least one ink supply path opening, and a second insulating layer having at least one ink supply path opening that aligns with the at least one ink supply path opening in the first insulating layer. The heater includes a resistance heating trace arranged in a serpentine pattern between the first and the second insulating layers. The resistance heating trace is configured to receive electric current and to convert the electric current to heat. The resistance heating trace includes a trace ring for each ink supply path opening in the first and second insulating layers that forms a continuous perimeter around the corresponding ink supply path opening.

A fluid dispensing assembly has a fluid reservoir, a reservoir structure having at least one opening corresponding to a location of at least one fluid chamber in the reservoir structure, and a compliant film arranged to seal the opening and flex in response to pressure fluctuations in the fluid chamber. A system has a fluid supply, a fluid dispensing assembly having a fluid reservoir to receive fluid from the fluid supply, the fluid dispensing assembly having a reservoir structure with at least one opening corresponding to at least one fluid chamber, and a compliant film arranged to cover the opening such that a side of the film contacts fluid in the chamber and a side opposite the side contacting the fluid contacts air and is arranged to allow the film to flex.

A method and apparatus for automatically compensating for thermal conditioning of an ink jet print head are provided. The method and apparatus monitor the time during which the print head experiences various temperatures. The driving voltage supplied to the ink jet transducer is adjusted over time to compensate for thermal conditioning of the print head.
