An example assembly includes: a valve body having a cavity therein, wherein the valve body comprises internal threads formed in a first-handed direction and an external feature; a knob having an internal feature configured to engage with the external feature of the valve body to allow the internal feature of the knob to move past the external feature of the valve body in a linear direction when assembling the knob on the valve body; and a needle disposed in the cavity of the valve body and having external threads formed in the first-handed direction and engaging with the internal threads of the valve body, the needle being coupled to the knob such that rotation of the knob and the needle results in linear movement of the needle within the valve body due to engagement of the external threads of the needle with the internal threads of the valve body.

Flow control valve

An example valve section includes: a housing having: (i) a longitudinal bore, (ii) a first and second workport passages configured to be fluidly coupled to an actuator, (iii) a first and second return passages, (iv) an open-center passage configured to be fluidly coupled to a source of fluid, and (v) a supply passage disposed between the first and second workport passages. The valve section also includes a spool movable in the longitudinal bore to shift between: (i) a neutral position that allows the open-center passage to permit fluid flow therethrough, and (ii) a shifted position that allows fluid to be diverted from the open-center passage to the supply passage, and connects the supply passage to either the first or second workport passage while connecting the other workport passage to a corresponding return passage of the first and second return passages.

Open center control valve

Provided is a hydraulic valve including a valve body having a first port, a second port, and a pilot port, and a piston movable in the valve body to an open position by a pilot pressure flowing through the pilot port that acts on a portion of the piston to move the piston away from a valve seat in the body to allow fluid flow between the first and second ports. The piston is then movable to the closed position by a resilient member in the absence of the pilot pressure. In this way, during an event such as a power failure of a vehicle when the pilot pressure is unavailable, the valve is closed to prevent fluid draining from a hydraulic function to prevent movement of the function without using a mechanical locking device.
