A gasket assembly and method of construction is provided. The assembly includes a carrier body having opposite planar surfaces with at least one media-conveying opening extending through the planar surfaces with at least one through opening spaced radially from the at least one media-conveying opening. Further, the carrier body has at least one projection formed of the material of the carrier body. The at least one projection extends from the at least one through opening outwardly from at least one of the planar surfaces. The assembly further includes an elastomeric material encapsulating the projection.

Gasket assembly with improved locating and retention pin and method of construction thereof

A multilayer gasket assembly includes a functional layer having a plurality of openings bounded by an annular free edge. The functional layer has a seal bead bounding the openings. The assembly further includes a stopper layer having a free outer periphery and openings configured to register with the openings of the functional layer. The stopper layer has at least one nonsymmetrical, irregularly shaped ear extending radially outwardly from at least one the openings to form a portion of the free outer periphery.

Cylinder head gasket

A multilayer metal gasket () having first () and second () functional layers. Each layer () includes an opening (). Sealing beads () are formed in each layer () and, preferably, arranged to contact each other in crest-to-crest orientation to perfect a seal therebetween. A stopper feature () is provided to restrict compression of the sealing beads () in use. The stopper feature () is arranged in a generally circular pattern and is composed of a plurality of discrete nesting embossments () which are closely spaced to one another but do not touch. Each discrete nesting embossment () is substantially identical in shape to the next adjacent discrete nesting embossment () but oriented approximately 180 degrees therefrom. The embossments () may be formed entirely on one of the functional layers () or on both functional layers.
