A method and system for providing a drug delivery device. The drug delivery device comprises a dose setting mechanism comprising a spindle and a cartridge holder coupled to the dose setting mechanism. The cartridge holder comprising a cartridge having a movable bung at one end of the cartridge. The cartridge holder must be rotated before a dose may set with the dose setting mechanism.

Dose setting mechanism for priming a drug delivery device

A method and system for priming a drug delivery device. The drug delivery device includes a dose dial sleeve and an internal housing portion. The dose dial sleeve is coupled to the internal housing. The dose dial sleeve rotates on a substantially circumferential rotational path during priming of the drug delivery device. Further, the dose dial sleeve rotates on a helical path during dose setting of the drug delivery device.

A resettable dosing mechanism comprises a dose button and a dial grip operatively coupled to the dose button. A spindle acts on a bung of a cartridge and a driver is operatively coupled between the dose button and the spindle. During an injection of the dose, the dose button moves in an axial direction to cause the spindle to administer the dose. During resetting of the dose setting mechanism, the spindle is retracted back into the dose setting mechanism. An advantageous resetting mechanism is described.

Resettable drug delivery device

A resettable dose setting mechanism for a drug delivery device comprising a driver for driving a spindle of the drug delivery device is provided. Said driver comprises a first component and a second component rotationally coupled to said first component. During resetting of said drug delivery device, said first component is rotationally decoupled from said second component.

Resetting mechanism for a drug delivery device

A maximum settable dose feature is disclosed that is set by a user or health care professional one time that prevents future injections from exceeding the desired maximum dose. The feature includes a locking band () initially in an unlocked configuration, which transforms to a locked configuration when activated after setting a desired maximum dose. The feature can include a trigger mechanism () to transform the locking band () to the locked configuration.

The device is additionally provided with a bung sensor for sensing when the piston rod is in contact with the bung and the control means is operative for advancing the drive of the piston rod towards the bung.

A medicament delivery device () comprises a housing () for holding a medicament cartridge (), a piston rod () and a drive (). The medicament cartridge () has a medicament outlet and a bung () moveable axially along the medicament cartridge for dispensing a medicament, the piston rod has a plunger () for moving the bung and a lead member () telescopically coupled to the plunger () that may be driven by the drive () to extend or retract the piston rod (). Additionally, the device comprises a linkage () coupled between the plunger () and an anchorage () and a drive member () telescopically coupled to the lead member (). The drive () is operative to rotate the drive member () to telescopically move the lead member relative to the drive member whereby the plunger is moved relative to the lead member by way of the linkage ().

A method and system for priming a drug delivery device. The drug delivery device includes a forced priming feature that requires the user to move the dose dial sleeve axially to cause the spindle to pre-load a cartridge bung before a first dose can be dialed.

Dispensing apparatus comprising a housing having a first part () and a second part () together defining an interior of the housing for receiving a dispensing container, the first and second part being movable from an open position to permit insertion of said dispensing container into the interior of the housing to a closed position in which removal of said dispensing container from the interior of the housing is prevented, the dispensing apparatus further comprising a mouthpiece () which is removably connectable to the housing, wherein when connected to the housing the mouthpiece defines an outlet for a product dispensed, in use, from said dispensing container, and wherein when the mouthpiece is disconnected from the housing the first and second parts substantially enclose the interior to prevent access to and removal of said dispensing container received in the interior.
