The instant application describes a method for receiving, at a hub and from a first partner, a request for a common identifier for linking an account of the customer associated with the first partner with an account of the customer associated with a second partner to provide the customer with enhanced joint account services; in response to the request, generating the common identifier and providing the common identifier to the first partner; generating at the hub a common ID status based on a first partner customer ID status and a second partner customer ID status; and forwarding the common ID status to the first partner and the second partner.

The usage limited postpay service, for mobile wireless communication customers, utilizes a governor platform that estimates all appropriate usage charges and applies those charges in substantially real-time against a pre-set spending cap or limit for each customer. When the customer reaches the limit based on estimated charges, further usage is prohibited, even if the customer reaches the limit during an ongoing call or communication session. The actual bill for service, however, is generated in the normal manner after calls made or received during each billing cycle of the postpay service. The customer may deposit money or make payments against billed amounts, to reset the limit in the database associated with the governor platform. Use of the postpay billing approach allows the carrier to offer the cap or limit on essentially any of the carrier's normal postpay service plans, for example, including any or all of the carriers one-rate service plans.

A computer application having a common front-end interface and a back-end interface is used to activate and provision communication services provided by multiple carriers. The common front-end interface communicates with at least a database. The back-end interface is configured to communicate with every provisioning system for every carrier that a reseller of communication services has arrangements with. The back-end interface also performs the necessary translations and data conversions that are needed to utilize information from the front-end interface to activate and provision features for communication services on a particular carrier's provisioning system.
