A method, apparatus, and program product to allocate processor resources to a plurality of logical partitions in a computing device including a plurality of processors, each processor having at least one general purpose processing element and a plurality of synergistic processing elements. General purpose processing element resources and synergistic processing element resources are separately allocated to each logical partition. The synergistic processing element resources to each logical partition are allocated such that each synergistic processing element is assigned to a logical partition exclusively. At least one virtual processor is allocated for each logical partition. The at least one virtual processor may be allocated virtual general purpose processing element resources and virtual synergistic processing element resources that correspond to the general purpose processing element resources and synergistic processing element resources allocated to the logical partition.

Localized multi-element processor resource sharing among logical partitions

Embodiments of the invention generally provide methods, systems, and articles of manufacture that facilitate classification of a data access authority of unclassified users into one or more categories, and control access of data by the users based on the categories. When an unclassified user is found in an organization chart, one or more classified users near the unclassified user in the data tree may be identified. The unclassified user may be compared to the identified classified users to determine one or more suggested data access categories for classifying the unclassified user. The unclassified user may therefore be classified into one of the suggested data access category based on, for example, user input.

A method and circuit for eliminating silent store invalidation propagation in shared memory cache coherency protocols, and a design structure on which the subject circuit resides are provided. A received data value is compared with a stored cache data value. When the received data value matches the stored cache data value, a first squash signal is generated. A received write address is compared with a reservation address. When the received write address matches the reservation address, a reservation signal is generated and inverted. The first squash signal and the inverted reservation signal are combined to selectively produce a silent store squash signal. The silent store squash signal cancels sending an invalidation signal.

An instant messaging system for securing chat sessions containing confidential subject matter during instant messaging from external entities, the system comprising: a rules engine module configured to continuously build and update a set of rules used to determine when a chat session between a first chat party and a second chat party during an instant messaging session contains confidential or uniquely classified subject matter by loading at least one default rules or previous session rules and enabling a user to provide user-defined rules until the instant message session is ended; and an instant messaging module configured to secure the contents in the chat session based on pre-defined user settings, the contents in the chat session being secured when the contents in the chat session is determined to contain confidential subject matter derived from the set of rules, the chat session is further secured by limiting the exposure of the contents in the chat session to third parties when the chat session is determined to contain confidential subject matter while enabling the first chat party and the second chat party to view the contents in the chat session.

Integrated method of ensuring instant messaging security on confidential subject matter

A method for securing chat sessions containing confidential subject matter during instant messaging from external entities is provided. The method, comprising: building a set of rules used to determine when a chat session between a first chat party and a second chat party during an instant messaging session contains confidential or uniquely classified subject matter; and securing the contents in the chat session based on pre-defined user settings, the contents in the chat session being secured when the contents in the chat session is determined to contain confidential subject matter derived from the set of rules, the chat session is further secured by limiting the exposure of the contents in the chat session to third parties when the chat session is determined to contain confidential subject matter while enabling the first chat party and the second chat party to view the contents in the chat session.
